Please let me know which patch adds it back.
RPG coming next patch
This is why people play from WoW tend to go to private servers and not other MMOs
I mean it’s wow but you’re actually playing WoW when it was good.
I recommend WotLK ^-^
Care to be more specific? What is missing? What was removed that you want back? Because from my perspective we have more roleplaying options than ever.
Tons of races
Transmog to look the role
Heavy involvement with the faction you play for
Massive open world where you can literally do anything
Servers dedicated to roleplaying
Cutscenes with your character in them
And now they are adding player choice
So please elaborate on what’s missing. Or what was removed.
You’re right, there’s a lot, except there’s a little charm to every race having a unique style. All the allied races are copies of what’s currently there, therefore, the dances are not original.
Transmogs, we really need some cosmetic transmogs, back packs, hoods for all classes, belts, etc. Simple things that can add a layer of character.
And anyway, I totally recommend TRP3 (iirc) fo ranyone interested in RP.
MMORPG:. Many Men Online Role Playing Girls
News flash, you already are playing an mmorpg
Is this one of those threads where we make up our own personal definition to “MMORPG”, and make sure its just enough to leave WoW out?
Their animations may be copy and pasted. But the races do have their own unique quircks to them.
For example. Nightborne. They are not the same as their tree hugging, flower picking, moon worshipping, hippie cousins. Nightborne are the royal/noble/rich snobs. Makes for roleplaying on one fun.
I could go through with each, but that’s too much effort.
As for the transmog, yes it could use improvement and more options. But that doesn’t mean it doesn’t fit the bill as a roleplaying feature. If I wanted to be a bandit, I could go to the barber shop and cut my horns down and pick a regular blindfold and xmog my self to look like a bandit.
I mean… what’s your definition of an RPG? I think there’s plenty of rpg to be had in wow. I’ve found that most people who complain about wows lack of rpg elements are just looking for a single player experience like Witcher 3 or Skyrim that is much more rich in it’s RPG aspects.
I wish we weren’t the saviours of Azeroth, heroes, champions!
I want to be that adventurer again.
Then xmog to basic armor and go hang around one of the lowbie zones.
Also, point out an RPG that doesn’t make you the heroe for it’s main story.
Skyrim - you kill a dragon god, basically. You solve a civil war, you become the leader of one of various guilds.
Witcher - you are the witcher, hunting and killing magical monsters.
Dragon age - you are the grey warden killing an archdemon/champion of kirkwall/leader of the Inquisition.
Mass effect - you are the commander of one of the most elite units Earth has to offer and survived dieing.
SW Kotor - you are one of the most powerful Jedi to ever live. Or in swtors case, the strongest of your class to exist.
Every game ultimately makes you the heroe of the story, there are none that are just “bandit simulator”. Why would wow be any different?
We may get our chance to again, lets see what N’Zoth decides to do.
There’s a possibility that we’ve been his pawns ever since Vanilla. Just doing the dirty work for him, we may think we’re strong, but how do we really know what we’ve done was always for the “better” of Azeroth?
#Sargearas_wasn’t_wrong
Exactly, that’s why people play on private servers. WoW now is basically grind 10 levels and get back into mythic+s and raids.
Actually MMO is kind of questionable.
Best definition I’ve seen is it’s a single player slot machine simulator with spectators.
I would love too! Sadly that genre in this game is pretty much dead
You asked what was missing and I Believe the leveling experience of 1-110 is missing. It’s an end game type play style and that’s fine
In which case we agree to disagree, I like the leveling experience. That’s why I’m levelling instead of boosting, gives you the story as to why your the hero or champion.
I think maybe you don’t understand what an MMORPG is. WoW is definitely an MMORPG. Now, whether or not it is a good MMORPG at this point is… the subject of the many of the threads on the forums.
No, it’s the one where we boil down the definition of RPG to its literal description, which is any game in which you play a role. So every game.
I suppose. In the same way that any game that allows you to play for free is a free to play game.
RPG more in the idea of gear acquisition, dungeon crawling, questing, and power progression. New skills, traits, talents and all that jazz.
It’s not there in current wow after you hit level 100. After level 100 you have nothing new and exciting. You have a horrible neck piece that has to be continually feed azerite to unlock the same traits from 110-120.
