how chinese of you.
Take off that mask
What do you have to hide?
That’s not true, besides, people’s opinion were overwhelmingly ‘‘REEEE OUR TROOPS ARE FIGHTING FOR HIS SAFETY AND FREEDOM’’, so I’m glad he took the knee, it really brought out the scum of our nation so we can point and laugh at them. He’s a hero in my book, and is still massively succesful for it.
Yes. When at a sporting event for a team or organization or business you are AT WORK and on COMPANY TIME. It isn’t the place or time for political grandstanding.
Fear maybe
An ESPORT…An ESPORT.
That includes the Mythic Dungeon invitational
That Includes the World First Race
It’s relevant and it’s most assuredly not pulled out of “the Nether”
The first guy was just a warning shot and an example for everyone else.
I posted it here because I assumed you all would be forward thinking enough to see that
Dude on principle, I support you. But
That’s just ridiculous.
Why is it ridiculous? Thousands of dollars were lost over a statement. Where is the line? What’s next? A T Shirt? A tattoo? An accidental misperceived hand gesture?
I never expected a $1 when I played candyland and I don’t expect it playing WoW.
Love him or hate him. And I am sure there are folks on these forums who are in both camps. You can’t deny the fact that teams passed on him because they didn’t want the focus that surrounds him overshadowing their ability to promote themselves. Which is sort of my point. Our first amendment rights only protect out right to say what we want. It doesn’t free us from the consequences of that speech. And that plays out for both good and for bad. For Kap, I believe he felt his cause was more important to him than his career and considering it cost him a lucrative career; that decision wasn’t a small one. I don’t believe this tournament player or the broadcasters fully understood the consequences of their speech because they were all very young and young folks often don’t think of these things. That said, Blizzard is a private company and, like it or not, they dictate the forum where their products are concerned and they have a legal right to do as they please. As a player base we have a right to support that decision or not. Some have decided to leave the game and not support Blizzard financially, and that is their choice and (not that it matters) I personally support their right to do so. For me, I will state my modest and uninformed opinion on the matter that I think Blizzard came down a bit heavy handed. That said, as much as I disagree with China’s treatment of its own people, my playing or not playing a video game means absolutely nothing to any of those folks. It isn’t going to save a life. Blizzard will still be Blizzard without me. Nobody will take notice of my playing or not as a political statement. It won’t cause Blizzard to hire or fire anyone. My statements nor my actions can alter or change the events that have transpired.
In short, it is what it is.
This incident aside, I largely think Blizzard does a great job with the game (even if I disagree with a few decisions) and I genuinely enjoy playing it.
Some people do. And they make quite alot of money doing it. You DO realize that the guy that was made an example of lost 10k right?
This situation would be like if Kaepernick was preemptively sacked at the behest of a foreign country and had his payment for the season redacted rather than just explicitly banned.
Kaepernick is still very much with Nike right now, after doing impromptu research. And last I checked, made them a mint when the anti-Kaepernick crowd burned their Nike merchandise after already purchasing them and inadvertently giving Nike a metric ton of free marketing.
As this happened after Keurig outrage business, theres reason to suspect this was a deliberate move to take advantage of the rage market. With resounding success, might I add.
That was kindof thrown out the window when literally no one followed the caveat.
I’m absolutely fine with it. It’s not your platform, so you do what the owner of the platform wants or you don’t get to use the platform. It’s a really simple concept.
Not continuing the author is not a lawyer
He doesn’t know how to read the rules
Not always. His public protests caused people on both sides of the issue to take a position. I don’t think he cares about how divisive he is. He felt he had a point to make and he is now living with the consequences of his free speech.
You don’t get to determine how other people respond. Quit trying to opress and censor our free speech!!! Frigging commie.
So that’s like $0.50 US, right
Yes he is.
More famous
More Money
Less damage to his body
Massively more popular with the people he would want to be popular with.
Not a fan of his, but he used the system to make a buck on his skin color when he knew he couldn’t as a QB
