Everyone everywhere has the right to choose what they do and say.
Sometimes these choices have devastating consequences.
But yes, you have the choice to do so.
Still nothing to do with Rosa Parks. Or anything else.

hey, wait a minute. i thought the response we had was tight and it got the response we wanted. blizz recanted on the severity of the punishment, illustrated for the chinese government that telling people to shut up globally ain’t gonna fly, and that all it will result in is very bad PR.
i think the whole thing was a win/win.
We should be doing something, anything, more substantial than nothing. But everyone’s afraid of offending China, and we should know how by now well appeasement works. Maybe we’ll get “lucky” and China will just keep devouring itself until another revolution occurs.
As much as i dislike Blizzard i cannot fault them for what they did. Yes it was sloppy and could’ve been handled a bit better but i would’ve done the same thing.
There are other platforms in the world to share you views on.
There is No War in Ba Sing Se either. But props for repeating the same line over and over again.
But you are correct. The players signed a contract. A contract that said Blizzard will decide who and how to punish at their own discretion. Which is why it was so easy for them to cut his ban in half and reward him his winnings (after making sure china knew that he was punished) as well as not punishing a pair of american streamers for using blizzards platform for similar hong kong opinions
So, I just watched the recent live react with Mark Kern on TheQuartering re: Blizz’s recent “Regarding Last Week’s Hearthstone Grandmasters Tournament” post.
I’m not a fan of TheQuartering, but when I saw that Mark–who was one of the big players internally, was going be live on vid–I had to watch. Mark was the one who clued me into the fact that Classic was getting a launch, and is literally the reason I resubbed to begin with.
I’m glad that Bliztchung will be receiving the prize money; however, I am in no way convinced that their decision was not influenced by Chinese politics. I am still disappointed with Blizzard’s failure to acknowledge the kowtow expressed in their Chinese language post made immediately after the events.
I can understand wanting to ban Bliztchung for exploiting an official Blizz platform to make a political point, but the initial rescinding of prize money was 100% uncalled for. The most damning thing has been the blatant hypocrisy in the way Blizz has treated American University students who recently expressed similar political leanings while not receiving a ban. It’s as though people expressing political statements on an english language platform doesn’t illicit the same response as people expressing political statements in Chinese. Which flies in the face of Blizz’s response re: CCP political influence.
Overall, I have mixed feelings. Part of me still lusts for blood to be shed on Activision-Blizzard’s metaphorical behalf, but a certain pragmatic kernel sees this as the best possible outcome (however unsatisfactory I may find it). Hopefully, Blizzard’s response to this fiasco will evolve as they approach Blizzcon. I don’t think they’ve sufficiently disarmed this publicity timebomb as to head off a continued negative response. As unlikely as it may be, I would like to see Kotick, or some other responsible party, removed.
Wow. I can’t even begin to try and unravel this tangled mess of word soup.
Yes he was. And he did.
Such as?

Congratulations.
You have just verified that the guy chose to speak at the HS tourney.
In other news… water is wet.
Again, you’re choosing not to see the parallels because you don’t want to see them.
And as much as you want it to, this event didn’t take place in a vacuum.
There. Are. No. Parallels.
And I don’t see any point in continuing this … discussion.
Thanks for the chat.
Alright lemme try again.
Blizzard isn’t out here segregating their games. You’re comparing racism to an esports gamer breaking company rules.
In a post above here you said he’s free to do as he wishes and yes, he can. But y’know what? Lots of companies have a rule to not be affiliated with politics while representing them. And if you break that rule there will of course be punishments. It all has to do with the image of the business.
Are you going to tell me that for all of the people fired for breaking that rule that they’re all Rosa Parks out there?
There. is. No. War. in. Ba Sing Se.

I resent being deliberately misquoted and ask politely that you remove your post because it is not what I said.
Otherwise I will flag this post as trolling.
I’m comparing one person breaking the rules to another person breaking the rules.
It’s pretty straightforward.
Alright using your straightforwardness I have this example:
Laws are just rules for citizens right?
Murder is against the law. It’s a rule. But someone broke it. Oh no! Another person broke the rule by murdering another person!
Does it still apply?
Youre going to report someone for trolling because they replied to you on a public forum?
No I am gong to report you for trolling because by deliberately misquoting me you are trolling me AND I have asked you nicely to remove the misquote.
