Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

The people affected are not covered by US law

This is an American company, it should be assumed.

Someone doesn’t know what a multinational company is.

What you signed up for was access to WoW. That is all.

We really needed another thread about this.
A new thread for each and every individual player that is not happy with the existing state of affairs.

Well there is a solution to the problem vote with your wallet and stop playing problem solved.

Yeah i think that’s the plan, haven’t been able to bring myself to log in today,
Then again, its still early days, with enough posts, maybe blizz will change their minds and correct it soon.

I unsubbed already I just have 2 weeks left lol

You have no free speech when standing in someone else’s property. That’s equally true whether you’re in my living room ranting about how you like to put pineapple on pizza (you monster) or whether you’re in someone’s conference center at an event chipping in your two cents about the most tediously unnecessary “protest” in history.

If you want free speech, find a public common on which to exercise it. Otherwise, find someone who will let you talk. Failing that, don’t go to an event that expressly forbids it.

Achievement unlocked! Crushing a scrub who decided to use your platform as a springboard for his own selfish political views that broke the terms of service…

The agreement didn’t mention anything specific about china, nothing was written about it, its contract was vague and encompassing,
What IS written is the Blizzard code and morals “Think Globally” and “Every Voice Matters”
But now Blizz are changing their tune…

idk man i kinda feel like when esports hinges on the competitors and this guys wins the whole shebang he has earned the right to talk about something that’s important to him.
of course, blizz has the power to disallow it and punish him. and we have the power to not give them money and tell everybody they’re supporting an authoritarian police state. and that’s terrible.

not wanting the police to beat the spit out of the people in your home town is a selfish political view?

Free speech doesn’t work like this. If we had free speech we could say anything on forum and swear and we can’t - why don’t you protest against that?

you can get banned on forum for saying million different things, not every apparently.

muh freedom of speech
