It’s not their Chinese division. ffs. Netease is a 10b (us) a year Chinese internet company with a market cap of 33b US, who - among the other things they do - licenses WoW from Blizzard to run in China.

It might not be “their” company but it is their brand. So now blizzard has to make a statement about Netease being incompetent (prolly use more diplomatic language) but yeah.

Yes, Blizzard should be releasing a statement saying that the Netease statement does not represent the opinions or position of Blizzard/Activision, which has a policy of not making political statements. And somehow wordsmith it to not be offensive. Which is ironic considering that Blitzchung was punished for making a political statement.

I agree, but the wordsmithing on it to accomplish a) clarifying it was Netease and not Blizzard who made that statement, b) that Blizzard/Activision has a firm policy on not making political statements, and that c) the actions taken against Blitzchung fully support their non-political stance is going to have to be epic.
