“…2 days later players were holding signs up in support of the Hong Kong protesters…”
And as long as those players were only representing themselves and not Blizzard, they were perfectly within their rights to do so. Kudos to them.

Really? No way! None of us understood that. Not. One.
Seriously, what is so difficult for you to grasp? That we all know Blizzard Can do this or that MANY people feel they SHOULD NOT have done this. Blizzards action were, as a poster said above, political statements in and of themselves.
It WASN’T Blizzard’s time! It was TWITCH’s Time! It happened in an INTERVIEW AFTER THE MATCH on a PLATFORM NOT CONTROLLED BY BLIZZARD.
He agreed to participate in a tournament that had rules.
Fighting for freedom = garbage.
You heard it here first folks! People dying is fine so long as they do it off of my Twitch stream.
So why did they also ban the two interviewers who tried to get out of frame when the comment was made?
It’s painfully obvious they’re appeasing their Chinese market and it has nothing to do with upholding some vague, catchall umbrella TOS.
Said rules are UN EN FORCE ABLE
you aren’t going to find out what my opinion is because this isn’t the place to discuss it. but keep on putting words in my mouth, that’s about what i’d expect.
The dude made a political stand after signing documents stating he wouldn’t use the interview for that. Not only that but in to participate in the competition everyone signed an agreement. This person violated that. Actions have consequences. You are taking an action by Blizzard and being very dumb with it. Just stop.
And if those rules were no black people, would you be sitting here saying, “Well, that is fair.”
Obviously they enforced them.
A thread about the event that happened isn’t a place to discuss it?
There are laws against that.
Not in China.
No they have taken an illegal action that can be enjoined by our courts and should be at earliest opportunity.
What law did Blizzard break?
Sure it is, we are doing it right now. Hell, people talk about politics in the very video game, is that like a double bad for you?
Wrong. Blizz made sure that this won’t happen again.
They both had the right to do it, and they were correct to do it.
just because you’re doing it doesn’t mean anything. the entire purpose of this thread is to troll and rile people up.
No sir you are projecting your stupid on to me.
#1 If you don’t like these topics why are you posting in this thread? You can move along and ignore it quite easily.
#2 Blizzard most certainly IS censoring. It being in a contract does not magically make it not censorship.
#3 If you do business in China you support their politics. If you don’t support their politics you won’t do business there. Do some research on this.
