They have a choice in this matter. They can support HKs desire for freedom, or they can ban players who support freedom. If it hits them in the pocketbook, they may make better decisions down the road.
Regardless, you claimed to know the motives of people taking this action. Clearly, boycotts and lost revenue can correct company behavior.
The NBA is feeling the heat as well, bc their caught between chasing dollars and an encouraged playerbase who have been cheered for their social awareness.
It’s true, sir. I’ve been reading threads for the last couple of days. I haven’t even been able to post much since I’ve been reading so much. I’ve been watching people get drug through the mud more lately than I have in months.
It’s in Blizzard’s best interest right now to ignore demands of the wave of opportunistic trolls blanketing the forums with spam posts about an issue they barely understand.
These waves of quasi-political troll threads come up regularly, as somebody in Internet Troll Central™ finds an issue they can mobilize their army of vandals to play up fake concern to cause disarray in forums that have zero to do with the issue they supposedly care deeply about.
It’s just a “4 chan meets stormfront in the middle school playground” type of political action.
Mods will come through soon to take out the trash.
You want source data that not everyone is hopelessly addicted to WoW? Or that at least some people are boycotting? Because I never claimed anything else.
I think they can understand people protesting against a totalitarian government - it’s easier to comprehend whose side you should be on when it’s happening somewhere else.
They might not care about Hong Kong in a personal manner, but they may care that Blizzard chose the wrong side then defended their actions with the letter of the law instead of their founding principles.
Look, when I find myself agreeing with Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz about anything, I’m either crazy or horribly right about something.
Have yet to see any action which is funny. The rest of your post is just vague none-sense with the word “troll” thrown in randomly to try and discredit people.
Literally take a look at https://www.reddit.com/r/HongKong/ and shift through all the posts of people showing how they’re deleting their accounts- or the fact blizzard was being spammed by delete account requests their authentication services for account deletion were taken down.
He is saying that a significant number of people are boycotting the game because of this, because they are not so addicted they wouldn’t leave over it. I don’t believe his claim that lots of people have left.
Well, or unless you’re willing to accept a lower standard of living.
No one is, we’ve all accepted that the ethical implications of accepting our high standards of living and abundance is worth the shady stuff needed to maintain them.
