Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

Nah nah nah. You sit here comfortable in America and make that statement. You once again show that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

We’re not forcing them to tolerate it. It was 100% blizzard’s decision. So yes it’s on them. I love how your arguments are like a house of cards that can be disproven with basic logic.

Generally speaking, people speaking out against Blizzard, the NBA, etc., are fully aware that (particularly publicly traded) companies only care about money. That’s what they’re objecting to.

So you’re saying capitalism is evil

Ive been out of the comfort of America several times, in less than ideal situations, I have a pretty good idea of how terrible it is in countries without free speech.
But at the end of the day he signed a contract, and he breached it. He could have easily done this on his personal stream and gotten just as many views i’m sure. But he choose to do it at a sponsored event in which he signed a contract saying he wouldn’t do stuff like this. The fact of the matter is if you’re not good for your word, what are you good for?

See! This is the shlt I was talking about :joy:

He got held responsible for breaching his contract. Good.

Can’t we hold Blizzard responsible for taking a political stance with a Communist Dictatorship also?

umm excuse me sir and or maam did you just bypass the filter to say a curse word. Why was this curse word filtered in the first place? OMG BLIZZARD IS RESTRICTING MY FREE SPEECH. AHHHHHHHHHHHHH HELP unsub now guys!

Who says blizzard is taking a stance with a communist dictatorship? Simply because they punished someone who broke the rules? Its a bit of a stretch to say just because they banned someone in violation in contract from the GRANDMASTERS and took the money as per agreement that they support a communist dictatorship… He can still play hearthstone, hes not banned from logging into the game, hes just banned from said competition, where he signed a contract to be a part of…

That cop who pulled you over for a seat belt violation must support police brutality by your loose logic…

You are trolling right? You think its just a coincidence that the contract was structured that way?

If you do business in china at all, you take their political stance on that business. Period.

I’m old enough to remember when the USA was the super power of the world. Amazing what happens in less than 30 years…

He should have been banned permanently. He breached contract and that should be the end of story. Can we move on to next week’s “outrage” please?

No its not a coincidence at all. Companies set these rules, to be as neutral as possible. When someone speaks out against something at an official blizzard competition, he went out of his way to break neutral. It sucks that these things are happening in his country, but that doesn’t excuse his violation of the contract he agreed to. If you don’t like the looseness or generalization of a contract, don’t sign it, don’t play. Doesn’t seem like rocket science.

If he screamed Impeach trump, or trump is a racist bigot, the same thing would have happened. He signed a contract to keep that kind of stuff out of the competition. Its about playing a game, not a political stance. Separate them so people can enjoy what they are watching, a game.

Why are people unable to separate these two things?

Because its a LEGALLY binding contract? They are connected, hello?

You don’t know that.

You have been willfully ignoring my first statement this whole time.

I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THE FACT THE KID BROKE HIS CONTRACT AND GOT PUNISHED.

At the same time Blizzard has a moral obligation to not help China suppress this speech. Yet they have agreed to and actively did so.

I too enjoy “Earth Song.” I think it is a very under appreciated track.

If I don’t know that, but you can assume they are in favor of a communist political parties stance simply by holding someone accountable to a contract they signed is a bit foolish
