It is greedy and bad business. It’s like they don’t want to be successful or please the players at times. Granted they have done some great work on Classic so far to restore that for the fans. Unfortunately they still are very detached from the player base and actually pleasing customers.

I mean look at retail and how desperately we have asked for Vendors for years. It’s pretty agonizing when they say nope what we have in place is better and here is why. Just flabbergasted at the detachment. Which is why finally having Classic will give us a WoW experience again since it’s been many years since that happened.

When I can look back and honestly miss WoD which wasn’t an amazing expansion that just shows much Retail has fallen off the correct path. I mean WoD was just infinitely better than the last 2 expansions. Talk about crazy. It had garrisons too :rofl:

Then the class designs… ugghh. I have always mained a Prot warrior you know what it is like to try and play retail and you don’t even have Defensive stance anymore? Talk about a cruel joke. Ohh wait Arms can spec into it. That makes sense. The awful talent system and even worse core designs.

Can’t wait to just have D stance back ( literally what Prot is ) not to mention stance dance again like a real warrior. They removed so much… It got so bad :disappointed_relieved:

If I got gifted a day or two of free sub time, I would gladly jump into the stress test for gits and shiggles.

Its one way for Blizzard to get around the whole “We need more testers, but we still require players to have an active sub to participate”.

Gifting out sub time to already active accounts would also prevent players from just mindlessly creating accounts to get in, too – making room for just legitimate player accounts.

Well, the fact that there isn’t any twink BGs going on says your wrong, so…

Maybe you were in the minority (you were) or else the twinking scene would still be thriving. But it isn’t. It is completely dead.

3 days is enough to clear all 8.2 content from a fresh character, but I’m still not doing it, literally playing fallout NV for the 100th time sounds better.

Lol, they’ve been doing promotions like this for years for inactive accounts, “desperate” is hardly the word. If you can get 1 person back for what’s worth 1.50 worth of time (if we paid for it.) and at least 1 in 10 people come back even for one month, they’re breaking even at the very least. And we know that it doesn’t cost them 1.50 to give us 3 days of access to the servers lol.

You can keep a water wheel running with small impulses if it is already running.
But you can’t start a water wheel with small impulses for the first time.

What I want to say:
After every new retail addon, the twink bracket has lost many players who prefer to explore the new areas and play the new dungeons etc.
Many wanted to return to the twink bracket afterwards.
But here comes the problem:
Not all of these players return to the twink bracket at the same time.
But all these players would have been necessary simultaneously to revive the twink bracket.

Now some players have returned and waited a long time for a BG invite. They noticed that the waiting times have become extremely long. That’s why these players switched back to their main game.

When these players were back on their main, the next players came and were first done with the new addon and wanted to twink again…and again there were extremely long waiting times, so they logged back on their Main.
etc.

It’s a negative cascade.

My suggestion at that time was that the system for players with xp-lock only searches for other players with xp-lock for the first 5-10 minutes. If not enough players for a BG are found during this time, these players will be added to the normal search pool.

So if there were too many Twinks, then they would have got into their own BGs. And if there weren’t enough twinks, the twinks would at least have helped to reduce the waiting times in the normal bracket.

Furthermore, I don’t like the idea of separating player groups at all.
The leveling players finally had the same opportunity to equip themselves and didn’t do so because they didn’t feel like it. Then they don’t have the right to get upset about the fact that some players equip themselves well in a game that relies, as RPG, to equip themselves.

And no one can blame these players for equipping themselves. Rather, Blizzard would have had to balance the old equipment properly here.
Btw. everyone could have bought the lvl 60 and 70 pvp set for a little amount of honor points. So, especially in these brackets (the 60s and the 70s) the argument of an extremely dis-balance between twinks and leveling players is wrong.

Not to mention the fact that not just for xp-lock twinks there were less or no bgs popping up after cataclysm…that was also the case for leveling twinks that were waiting for bgs popping up.

If twinking is so great, why did this happen? Could it be that twinks relied on cannon fodder from people taking a break from leveling to get the bgs to fill up?

Or why didn’t the twinks just twink out another toon and rejoin the bracket? Sure they’d level out of it after a few wins, but surely it would be worth it for:

got the three days, pondered using them for a bit before accepting.
first I made a DK, ran her through the dk starting zone, then headed towards Outland to try to see if I could re-capture a bit of BC’s magic. eh, turns out not really- it wasn’t just that I’d done it all before, and could do it all easily, but that it was simply so completely empty in Hellfire Peninsula.

Used the last two days to ‘retire’ all my max level characters to Halfhill farm, the last place/time in the game where I was truly happy despite the grinding. Made a brief attempt on Skarm here to head for Timeless Isle and knock out one or two achevements.

And that’s the end of it I guess. Waiting a bit more hopefully for Classic

How would they have moved that large of a volume of water though to counter act the amount of water flooding in?

The main thing that made twinks so OP against regular players wasn’t the gear though. It was the enchantments. A new fresh character will simply not have the gold to be enchanting their gear with the best enchantments while they are leveling, and twinks would have a main with tons of gold to throw their twink. So BGs became no fun for anyone except twinks. Then they separated them, and lo and behold, Twinks didn’t enjoy fighting on equal footing versus other twinks, so they all stopped playing their twinks and BGs became fun for the majority instead of the minority when leveling up.

I understand the fun of being OP to 90% of the players in the BG, but it isn’t good gameplay, it’s toxic to everyone else.

But you’ll be able to twink again in classic, and ruin leveling BGs for the rest of us again, so don’t worry.

It happened because of 2 things. One experience in BGs ( never should of happened) then finally separating BGs. There is no reason for them to be separated. The game is already too watered down and divided. No reason to divide it more. Somehow no matter what Blizz adds it divides the community then they leave. Warmode for instance killed WPvP. Darkspear a former great PvP server now isn’t. It’s so bad they have to give other factions incentive to play their dumb idea. When will they learn?

Twinking is awesome and always will be. At least we got Classic coming and there is a community before all these bad ideas expansion after expansion removed it.

There is no reason to keep separating the community and eliminating the player base. Many of my friends quit after the No PvP vendor announcement. Blizzard doesn’t like to admit mistakes though. They somehow think what they have is better despite it being clearly evident the players think differently.

Just amazing you can ask for something over and over and Blizzard will say hey we listened and didn’t give you what you asked for but…but… we added this chest conquest system that is better than vendors. Total blasphemy :roll_eyes:

The original game and TBC was great and it started to get questionable in WotLK.

I stopped playing my twink when talents where revamped, the stat crunched was final the nail in the coffin. Those great enchants became worthless. I’m sure that’s the same with most people. My 29 twink MM hunter wasn’t the same when specs homogenized.

Even today, a fully twinked out geared/enchanted player will wreck a normal leveling player.

The stat squish and homogenization hurt everyone, so I feel you there, but if the battlegrounds were not separated, than BGs would still be dominated by OP Twinks.

While I feel bad for the people who love twinking, I also have been that normal leveler trying to do a BG for fun in between dungeons and questing. Twinks ruined BGs for the normal player, which was the majority, and I LOVE leveling new toons through nothing but BGs now that the Twinks are gone.

Normal levers don’t rally exist though, you can boost to endgame instantly for 5 years now. Everyone has heirlooms.

Heirlooms don’t make a Twink. And there are still a lot of people who enjoy leveling. I’ve never bought a boost before and I expect more people haven’t than have. Leveling through BGs I see plenty of people doing the same thing I’m doing, and the ques for every bracket are less than 5 minutes. Since there are no twinks, that means there are tons of levelers.

No they didn’t. You did a few BGs for fun then you leveled out of that bracket. You might of not even joined a BG with a Twink in it during your time in that bracket. It’s idiotic for the BGs to be separated because there is a chance you might run into a Twink during you few hours time in that bracket.

PvP experience should of never been added. It has caused nothing but problems. Glad you enjoy it but you should do BGs to compete in PvP not gain experience or PvE levels.

I agree that we shouldn’t break up the community, but this really didn’t answer my question. If twinking is the best part of the game, then enough people would do it to make queues pop.
