Blizz gave Horde easier access to Allied Races in Both Legion and Now BFA

Patch 7.3 came out on August 29th. Blizzcon which revealed the Allied Races was first week of November. So right there is TWO months to start gaining SOME rep towards the new factions. The Allied Races were then available to play with pre-purchase on January 16th. So you have FOUR months to get to Exalted with TWO of those months knowing full well ahead of time the Allied Races are locked behind it.

People can get exalted to a faction in less than a month with EXCESSIVE grinding. You have four times that amount of AND it is current content so you should have been doing your Argus WQs and rifts and whatever anyway for veiled argunite.

This argument is so old and easy to debunk I don’t understand why your side constantly tries to use it while playing the victim card. I primarily raidlogged in Legion and even I had Exalted by January simply doing the rifts, weeklies, and emissaries.

Nightfalls requirements is still harder than Voidelves and Lightborne (both which can be earn at the same time)

The people who are saying effectively “If you wanted it, you could have had it by now” aren’t wrong. But there’s nothing wrong with playing casually, even very casually, and finding certain requirements pretty daunting, especially when the reward is for small things. Ralanthel makes excellent points about future impacts of these requirements. My concern in my OP is not that it’s too hard or insurmountable, only that Alliance had to work with later-introduced faction requirements than Horde, which feels like a more lengthened slog as a casual player. This is irrefutably the case, even if most people had still done these reps by the time the ARs became available.

I think my biggest problem is having to go through a dungeon with other people. It’s finding people that want to go through a normal dungeon for story progression. Most are doing mythic +.

I’ve been soloing a lot of the dungeons, but can’t seem to unlock Kul Tirans due to a final boss mechanic. Mechagon seems to be a heroic dungeon. So I’ll have to try that again later.

I don’t really have much of a problem with rep grind though, besides it taking a long time.

Just specify it in the dungeon finder and queue. It’s what I did for things like the 8.1 profession items. You are even a DH so you get near instant tank queues.

Wins the war, suffers pretty much zero losses throughout the entire expansion, has Horde at their mercy again.

HORDE BIAS! HORDE BIAS! REEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Alliance were made to look pretty stupid this expansion, and we never really saw any, “victories”. We certainly get nothing out of having the Horde at our, “mercy” - just like the last time this happened.

Annnnd… thread. Nothing more to see folks.

Nobody won in the grand scheme of it all, but Blizzard said the Alliance apparently won all the warfronts. /shrug

Anyone who’s been ‘playing from the start’ already can unlock the allied races with no effort at all, this comparison is stupid.

I really don’t understand why they don’t allow completion of mythic+ dungeons to count toward quests. There’s a huge difference between allowing quest completion on easier dungeons, which is good, and forcing players into easier dungeons, which is just wasting people’s time.

Blizzard just saying it is the worst way to do it. Nobody is happy with the result.

Can’t disagree there.

You can get up to 2,200 rep A DAY for Rustbolt Resistance just from dailies on the island, not including the contracts. That’s more than an emissary worth in a single day and emissaries are (well meant to be but a bug happened) weekly.

It does suck that you have to do the dungeon though, but it will be coming as heroic in the next patch. Though it should be easy enough to just ask for “Friendship Mechagnomes”, isn’t the alliance supposed to be the nice people? Seems like tossing out King lockouts and spending the 10 minutes to kill him would be nothing. :woman_shrugging: The alliance people I play with were more than happy to invite me along… and then put me to work as almost full time healer for the rest of the people who needed it lol.

I think your main issue is actually with the allied races in general, which I agree with. Especially with the upcoming customization options.

For what it’s worth, I think Tortollans actually had a much more sloggish rep grind.

Maybe I am the only one who don’t care about the Bee mount :joy:
To reach exalted with Rustbolt was really easy. My opinion.

Allied Races are meant to be prestigious, and a reward. It says it on the AR page in the second sentence. They are considered prestige races. You will not get something that is coined as “prestigious” without grinding. It’s the way of MMO’s.

https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/battle-for-azeroth/features/allied-races

Venture forth as one of the new playable Allied Races in Battle for Azeroth. Earn the respect of the Zandalari trolls, Kul Tiran humans, and other noble allies, and you’ll unlock the ability to create new prestige characters of those races.

“Earn”, “unlock”, “prestige”. From day one of that page being up, it was known and understood (or it should have been) that AR’s are something we’ll be grinding for, are meant to be viewed as prestigious, and are a reward.

Sure, but the unlock is also behind a currently Mythic dungeon on the level of Karazhan.

The OP isn’t wrong here. The Horde unlocks are WAY easier to do.

Definitely a fair point.

That I will grant you. Though just FYI it’s being downgraded to a heroic dungeon in 8.3, which while still technically is more effort than the horde, it’s incredibly easy to do.

This is being made heroic and queue content in 8.3. People who don’t want to do the mythic dungeon can take an hour after the release of 8.3 to go do the heroic variant. They’ll be fine.
