I’d say it was very much needed, and desired. Some people do not like levelling, and Shadowlands levelling can be quite slow at times, so if people can breeze through that in half the time, more power to them.
Classic doesn’t really need a levelling speed boost. Hell, heirlooms didn’t become a thing until WotLK. Deal with the ‘hardcore’ gameplay that you demanded from Blizzard.

Or mabye just games they dont play as much? The thing is that not everyone speedruns and takes breaks with either other games or irl stuff.
For me I play in moderation (few hours every day) and with full heirlooms (in normal wow) in classic it takes months and in normal wow it takes about a week.
Classic was never for the prebc or bc players.

It was ALWAYS for the pretenders, the people who “forgot their login” but were “super seriously gladiators in vanilla” the people who stood in every fire, but definitely were in a top 10 guild pre-bc qnd got the world first illidan kill solo on a moonkin in quest greens, they were that good.
Classic is like… a war reenactment for stolen valor guys. Its whole purpose was so all the people who pretended they did it could go do it and then “remember” all the things they “forgot” when you ask them about playing prebc/bc.
But then they realized that was hard, so the goldsellers made a killing and gdkp flourished, because if you cant so… but bragged, you gotto buy so you can keep bragging.
But classic will never be vanilla or bc, because the whole community was wildly different. Gamers were different, technology was different. You cant get any of that back.
But hey, they wanna play classic… its their game, their choice of how they get entertained. Its just hilarious the people who want all the blizz handouts to go to classic, or they buy q bunch of stuff with credit cards in classic then come on the retail forums begging blizz to let them transfer their classic chars to retail.

Took my TBC sham 14 days /played time to get to level 70.
Took my hunter in retail 3 days /played time to get max leveled here. There are people who power level a lot faster than I do. Saying it takes MONTHS to fully level up for every player? Not entirely true.
Why are you here complaining about retail,op.?
That maybe when wotlk classic starts(whenever that maybe) for 6-8 weeks .

I picked 6 hours, because that is what is recommended online. Just search for “fast leveling wow”.
“Leveling from 1-50 is a lot faster than it was to level from 1-120. Speed levelers can do it in a little over 4 hours, while casual players can reach level 50 in about 8-10 hours of playtime. An experienced WoW player should be able to reach 50 in about 6-8 hours.”
