I hate to say this… but I saw 2 people in Oribos last night rocking the new tier 2 judgement, yes the NEW t2 set, on the first DAY. I do not have any idea how they did it or what they exploited to repeat tokens so much, but I can expect patch notes in the next coming days about the nerf.
Exploit early exploit often boys.
Also, we all know that Blizzard is going to cave in a few weeks and make this stuff easier to get, its time gated content. Look at MOP remix, remember how much of a PITA that stuff was to farm in the beginning? Think of how it was at the end.
Blizzard WILL nerf it all to the ground and make it a joke to get as usual, do not stress about getting your sets day 1 or even week 1 just do your weeklies and w/e and just play the game as normal.
Blizz’ heavy use of FOMO tactics with countless pieces of content means I’ll don’t trust ANYTHING returning in the future… and even then, I expect it to be on the store rather than a returning event reward.
The other milestone event rewards have been one-offs (retuning only now due to special circumstances), so it seems safe to assume the remastered tier sets will NOT be returning.
Besides, I don’t plan to be playing WoW next year.
I did most of the event in some form and reached a similar point, and I’m not quite capped out for the week. I think I’ll end up with ~30 after doing the last couple of things, and I’ll probably be limited to 15-20 per week.
But the cost of the the T2 sets starts out at 60 for the first, 40 of the second, and 20 for the rest. I’m just saying skip the high barrier to entry and let it go straight to the final cost.
Plus, I think finally seeing T2 sets out in the game world will help with bolstering participation for the event. That should be a first-week result for the event.
I’d say more “first week”. Though the way it’s structured, the weekly quests are doable in a single day by those who want to.
That’s definitely an anomaly, but likely linked to repeating one of the events - probably either the raid or the battleground - with a coordinated group. Someway, somehow, someone found the super-sweaty loophole that most players can’t be expected to do.
Also, not surprised it’s the Judgment set.
… I have to admit, the complacency with Blizz’ BS with how much they drag out their grinds is more than a little frustrating.
The fact the nerfs are actually expected speaks volumes by itself.
IIUC the evidence would seem to point the other way with TCG items and other hard to get or FOMO items being made much easier to get. Event mount drop rates and so on.
It’s kind of their entire currency/reward model for limited time events these days.
On the PTR:A generous amount of currency is dumped on you so you can get all the things fairly expediently compared to the length of the event. The Community: Hey, neat stuff coming up and it looks fun! I can’t wait to have this stuff! On Launch: Here’s a bunch of new stuff and OOPS, our calculators all broke, you would need to grind for the next 30 years gathering a little of these new MacGuffins every week to get a reasonable amount of the rewards good luuuuuuuuck! The Community: Are you ACTUALLY KIDDING US? WHAT?? A Week After Launch:Continued total silence from Blizzard as they wait to see if people are still mad Two to Three Weeks After Launch, the Community: This is bogus, I stopped bothering with the event and I think I’m gonna let my sub lapse, this just makes me angry. A Month After Launch: We’re listening to you, we’re going to make 5000% more currency drop and make everything hourly! The Community: Hooray, we love you guys for listening to us!
I just wonder how many more times it’s going to work.
Must suck to be so obsessed with transmog or anything else in this game that you make yourself miserable which it appears OP is doing. So what if you don’t get every set. Just get what you will use.
It’s fine and you’re just impatient crybabies. People spending months or years farming transmog sets in old raids. Spending 2 weeks to get a super flashy reworked set is no big deal. And if you don’t want the sets you can buy cool mounts and such with 20.
the tier 2 sets are stupid expensive. 60 tokens but unless you wanna wait in a lfr que for codex or a group to kill the overtuned world bosses you can only get 9 tokens per week, since everyone is spamming timewalking and korraks revenge. its gonna take over a month just for the first set.
You know… it’s depressing to see how inured a lot of WoW players are to these designs.
Spending months & years farming old raids for rare drops, that’s not good either. I’ve done it myself, and it’s still ridiculous that it takes that long to obtain some items; usually just because of lousy luck.
Just because you’re used to WoW milking you dry for your free time doesn’t make it right.
The only thing I wanted was a “Logged on during WoW’s 20 Anniversary” achievement. Anything else I inadvertently get in the next couple of months is cool but not necessary.
It’s not “milking me dry” it’s perfectly fine and fun. Sounds like you, personally, have an issue. But that’s your problem, no-one cares. 2 weeks for a transmog set is fine.
This is a one-time event, get it? WoW won’t be 20 years old ever again. Also when you start playing people’s subs you can tell them what is and isn’t a big deal. Until then, shhh.
If $15/month is a big hardship to you, then you shouldn’t be playing WoW. And yes I’m aware there’s mememememe nownwonownow crybabies, they’ve been around since 2003.
Where did I say anything about the money? I said if you want to tell people how to play their game, how to spend their gaming time, then pay for it.
So please, don’t talk any more. The more you talk the dumber you sound.
So for most people it will be 2 or 3 weeks before we see people being cringe and all wearing their transmogs around the city. Just like when a new easy mount comes out everyone uses it thinking they accomplished something
I want to be ret paladin #12389123141 wearing the same remastered judgement set right now though! If I can’t get it in <24 hours I want to talk to the manager!!!
48 upvotes on the first post at the time of this response. I think there’s a decent level of agreement on the subject that the level of effort required is excessive.
I’d say it goes beyond paying for the subscription fee.
If someone wants to dictate how to play the game, I ain’t doing it pro bono.
