Covenants in general as they are now will be 100% horrid after completing the story line, it is the new neck, AZ and cloak grind tied into 1 thing. Instead of fixing classes and the GCD experiement, they add more talents that will be op for some classes and then it will get nerfed and you will pay to change convenants.
Covenants should only be mog, not game related.

I hope they atleast look at the abilities and think about what would work and what doesn’t. The amount of time spending on torgast makes me worry about the rest of the expansion. Yes it’s important but I would have liked them to spend more time on other things too.

And how would that be, precisely? Because the way the game was “mean to be played” has changed drastically with each expansion.
The person who thinks there is one unchanging way to play the game is the actual joke.
But that would mean not listening to you, and I’m fine with that.
They couldn’t balance talents. They couldn’t balance azerite traits. They couldn’t balance essences. They couldn’t balance corruptions. But they think they can balance something that is like all of that thrown together? I dunno why anyone is taking them seriously about being able to balance covenants.

I agree with this 100%. I would check out the datamined soulbind calculator on wowhead. I know its a datamine so not 100% reflective of what we may see on live but the soulbinds just make Venathir a ton more op than they already are.
I am concerned bout Torghast as well. To me, it’s a fancier version of the island. Some passably entertaining weekly chore that you just gotta do, and might be mildly amusing. The amount of effort spent on it is alarming.
It looks alarming right now. Venthyr gets instant cast teleport, and a cheat death at the sametime within the same soulbind. The guy also covers your transmog costs as well. I am not going to go into how game breaking overpowered it is and how it cannot be balanced using throughput. I am just hoping that this is open world content only abilities. which means blizz is willing to put alot of abilities in open world only, which speaks well for the prospect of option 2.
Yes. Blizz mentioned option 1 is on the table. They also mentioned option 2 is on the table as well.
So as they are, they will be mandatory and will be used to balance classes and specs via their specials. They will also be 100% grind fest power borrowing and if you miss a patch you will need to wait until the next xpac. The catch up mechanism will be added after it matters. It is failed before it has stated because players feedback was rejected.
The catchup mechanic is already planned.
Please link the post from the development team where there is a meaningful catch up mech for alts and mains that much switch covenants.
The plan is to not do like what they did with legion and bfa (artifact knowledge) they will instead have sources of a full soul bind “talent point”, it was discussed during blizzcon.
I legitimately don’t understand how he still has forum access. Literally all he does is flame people. Unless he gets a free pass for signaling “correct” political opinions or is a WoW forum mod’s alt.

Never said much about convenant so quoting me is out of context to your response if you take my entire reply … Never said i was for or against , didnt mention my stand on them at all .
And no option 3 doesnt work either , No actual fix would work to get rid of people that want wow to be an instant lobby game , lots of things dont affect others but this one does and its degraded the game a lot over the years .
Just let convenant be like they are , there will be some sort of switch/catch up mechanic few months in , just like every other system in wow.
Who knows. That’s one of the mysteries of the WoW forums. I personally think he is a troll that knows how to work the system. I’m sure people have been sent on vacation for less than anything Ralph writes in any given thread.
