No we want to make decisions such as
Not really, you can do max level for gear m+ (right now a 15) and clear mythic with every spec in the game, you just won’t do it as fast.
If you’re goal is just to complete content on time and not rush it like mine and my guilds is, this really doesn’t matter.
Did you read the rest of my post?
If you pay for a carry, sure.
But to pull your fair weight - you’ll need more than just M+ gear.
That’s not what I meant at all.
The covenant choice won’t really matter in the end unless you’re trying to push super fast or super high. Even the “worst” covenants will be clearing M+ 15s and Mythic.
Not for a lot of people this is the goal. You even acknowledge it yourself here.
For those of us it is a major issue.
I think you’re underestimating the number of people that will be impacted.
It’ll impact people well below the World First and +29 marks you mentioned.
Not really, except for the guilds that think they’re “wf guilds” but aren’t even anywhere close.
Most guilds and most players there’s a lot more that could be done by just playing better then worrying about what ability you have.
People in those level guilds enjoy analysing the encounter and characters etc and coming up with builds etc for it. Atleast the ones I have played with do.
Saying it’s not the only thing that could be improved to kill a boss so why bother with it is really silly. It’s about the amalgamation of things to kill bosses. That’s what it’s fun.
I like number 2 because it means Blizzard has to design classes to be complete without having to choose a specific covenant, because the covenant doesn’t matter in the content they’re balancing everything around.
Plus I spend most of my time in the world rather than instances, so I’ll be allowed to have covenants that matter for my experience without raiders and PvPers complaining that it ruins theirs.
He can make he’s own groups and raids still not hes problem.
That would ruin the whole expansion for me “here’s this fun ability BUT you can’t use it where you spend most of your time! HAHA!”
That’s what people say when it comes to being able to optimize their character for each piece of content.
Would you rather have “here’s this fun ability but you can’t use it in serious content and you’ll have to level a whole second character with the “right” choice to be allowed in raids?”
If you want to enjoy your covenant ability, just spend more time playing the whole game instead of only bothering with one tiny corner of it.
I’m not saying there isn’t any.
But i mean, there’s people who play ww monks in mythic guilds, so there’s many different opinions.
Interestingly #2 is my favorite option too, but from the other side of the coin as you are. I play most of my content in instances, and this allows for a clean, clear class design, while not being affected any covenant specific things.
when im not in the the instance, i would have chosen my favorite covenant for the aesthetics and could dabble in all the game breaking covenant specific stuff at my leisure. pretty much a win win.
If it’s just for outdoor content they might as well not even waste time making it.
I did say option 1 would be good, I just said “I” won’t be switching because it’s not needed and I’d rather use an ability I enjoy over what is “best”
Not necessarily. Imo making a feature is easy. balancing it is hard. If it’s only for out door content, they can just use their imagination, whip up whatever, put it in, then forget bout it since it’s not performance critical, you don’t need to balance it at all.
But it sucks all the fun out of it, I’d refund the expansion if they did that. I like new abilities, and I want to use them everywhere.
