Blizz does not respect player choice

So with the announced 9.2 stuff, specifically Zerith Mortis, the concept has been announced that the cypher system is being designed around the concept of making out door content harder, and the cypher system will be like Box of many things in Torghast where you have to interact with the cypher system get stronger to do the content. Why in the heck have you not learned that making overly complicated systems that you HAVE to interact with if you want to do the content turns away players who like things simple to understand, and not overly difficult?

How about, No, Blizzard. Some of use do not do Torghast for a reason; we don’t like it. Some of us don’t raid, M+, or PVP because those can be very stressful activities, and we play games to relieve stress, not add to it.

I don’t want the outdoor content to be harder; he the Maw is already too hard as it is and my main is sitting at 210 Ilvl. Why are you trying to design the game around players who want to no life the game and do really hard content? Have you ever heard of the acronym K.I.S.S.? Keep It Simple, Stupid. Why is that so hard to understand??

Some of us like that questing isn’t normally very hard. Some of us like to quest for the story, and collect Mogs, pets, mounts, etc. So the idea of making outdoor content harder than it already is, is a bad idea! Honestly you’re trying to design around the smallest population left playing; the hardcore players.

I’m not saying some players don’t want hard content! They have it already in the form of Raiding, M+, and PVP. Please respect those of us who enjoy being casual, and not make outdoor content any harder! Leave some stuff casual, or your Casuals are going to leave you, and I promise you there are far more casuals left than hard cores.

Screw it. Personally, I’ll just unsub again and go back to spending my time and money on Steam. They have better games, better prices, more content, and you’re not treated like you’re a problem for wanting to play games the way you want to.

Part of me doesn’t care that much part of me wishes they had not embraced the mobile phone game philosophy as hard as they do

10.0 is going to be the one we see if they listen. 9.2 I believe was already in the works since it took so long for the first content patch.

No hardcore player wants to do challenging outdoor world content.

Hardcore players want to raid, M+, or PvP, and they generally don’t want to do anything else other than those 3 activities.

Just like casuals don’t want to do a “challenging” outdoor world quest because they are just trying to chill, hardcore players don’t want to do the content because they would rather be doing keys or arena.

Don’t blame this new stupid system on the hardcore players.

Part of me just wants them to remove the “choice” and just do their stupid shoehorning of specs, systems and meta style play. At least they won’t be wasting time making half-arsed side choices.

If you don’t like it then simply skip it.

I bet it won’t matter in 10.0.

We are still beta testing Shadowlands. Shadowlands won’t actually be completely ready to play until 10.0.

Value doesn’t care for your well being either though

I heard the Cypher system isn’t tied to any sort of player power, its just outdoor content, so I wouldn’t consider it a HAVE to do type of thing.

That being said, everything else is right, but it’s nice to see them moving away from mandatory, player-power systems, at the very least.

We’ll also get to fly in the new zone, though I’m sure it’ll be time-gated behind the Cypher crap which will also be time-gated, my only issue at the moment.

OP had enough.

I loled at this.

The maw is designed for people at 190 ilvl. 210 is also very low.

WoW’s greatest strength and flaw is that it’s a big game that has to overlap with layers of meaningful content to the consumer in terms of the casual and the hardcore and by your implication I assume you’re already past level 60 and pretty much doing the whole hardcore work hard stuff.

The idea imo, is to relish in yourself and now take it a day at a time. It’s easy to see the forest for the trees, but you’re really playing with the less casual content at this rate.

My opinion is just to take it slow and gradual~

Korthia gives you better gear like nothing

This is now more of a player problem than Blizzards

This is such a bad excuse.

Like if you owned a restaurant and you had cooked up a steaming pile of garbage, you knew it was terrible and wasn’t going to taste good, would you serve it to the customer anyways just because you already spent the time preparing it?

In business this is called the sunk cost fallacy, and Blizzard has fallen victim time and time again. The past 8 years has essentially been this:

1.) Blizzard drops new build on PTR with broken system

2.) Players test it out and give feedback

3.) Blizzard ignores feedback and releases build anyways because they either don’t want to spend the required time to re-design the entire system, or they just straight up don’t agree with the feedback

If they are incapable of making fixes from now until the time at which 9.2 releases, what makes you think they will suddenly become capable when the 10.0 build drops on the PTR? We will just end up repeating the cycle where 10.0 solves 1 problem and creates 5 more to be “fixed in 11.0”.

No…the time for change is now. If 9.2 proves to be another “oh we hear your feedback but can’t fix it until later” then I think it’s legit just time for a new development team.

LOL whut?

Sounds like a git gud problem. You should be smashing the maw with 210.
Unless you’re going into the areas with elites, then you might need a buddy.

One takes minutes to change the other takes months when a playerbase is already angry about slow content.

I’m not defending it is blizzards own making.

I’m willing to give this system a try. I’m hesitant to call it a good idea, but it sounds interesting. The implementation will be key. They did mention that if you don’t want to engage with it you don’t have to…so that’s something. Personally I’m curious to see how it goes. Hoping for the best.

This system and whether i do it or not will be dependent on the rewards it offers.
Like visions in BfA. The reward for maxing out that system was really worth the effort. Torgast and Korthia were not worth the grind.
we’ll see.

Forgive me, but I’m a bit lost about what the complaint is, here.

Can someone help?

Those activities are as stressful as you make them. For as bad as retail has become, there’s a difficulty level for everyone. If you want content that can’t be failed, do low keys and normal raids. There’s no reason to get stressed over those.

Someone is mad that the 9.2 cypher system is too difficult, but we dont even know how it works, soo…
Also he thinks the maw is too difficult while overgearing it, so maybe he should go fight critters, idk?

Its kinda weird, these people buy WoW, but they dont want to do dungeons. They dont want to raid, they dont want to do arenas or RBGs, not even random bgs. They dont wanna do stuff like Torghast, they dont want to do Korthia and the maw is too difficult. Getting a group to farm legion raids is also too much to ask.
At some point, if you dont want to do 98% of the games content, dont you think you maybe have the wrong game?
