Blizz Does It Again

20+ years and billions in revenue and you guys still can’t get a launch right? I get that it is “just beta”, but people paid money for this. Waiting 20-50 minutes in a queue, only to be DC’d once you get to the front is pretty bad lol.

It’s Blizzard, they never get anything right, why are you suprised?

I’m getting good laughs out of people thinking the opening of beta would be smooth sailing.

Thanks for the entertainment Blizzard!

they even fixed this previously in launches where if you were DC’d then you could get back in and not que within a minute or so

they will probably give us a lame excuse like they had no idea so many players would try to play at the same time lol

I was 18,692 position in que. If this is what beta is like launch day is going to be great waiting while streamers get in right away.

Nothing bad can happen with a single large server for everyone…right…right?

You answered yourself. It’s beta. This is actually what Blizzard wants – massive numbers of players swarming their server, so they can identify all the problems during the beta and fix them prior to the actual launch.

If it was a free beta, I would 100% agree. A lot of people paid money for guaranteed access, and the only people getting that access are the scumbag streamers and a few lucky normies.

except they wont. name one xpac that wasn’t a train wreck on launch day from blizzard…roflmao

Well obviously not since you paid to participate in one.

TWW and Midnight had very smooth launches.

EDIT: and comparatively, BFA wasn’t bad either. MoP had a hiccup with one quest, Horde-side, but otherwise it went well too. WoD was pretty good as well. I’ve played through every single launch.

The same people who take PTO on the first day of a new expac never cease to amaze me

Everyone knows you wait a few days, what’s the rush?

Have you have ever participated in a BETA launch before?

Have you ever participated in a Retail expansion launch?

If you are expecting a more optimal experience you may want to wait until Christmas before you start playing

this isnt a launch, this is a beta lol

This isn’t a launch lmao I guess you weren’t around between 2004-2010; this was very common back then.

longer than that, the declining sub numbers have helped retail launches, but we saw with classic how crazy the ques were

youre outta this world if you think real launch wont be this all over again

this wasnt like a practice run or working out server kinks this is how they operate. they dont care about a smooth launch its not that they cant its that they dont care to.

Everyone forgets the awful launch in a week or 2 and they move on. they dont lose customers over it they jsut make you mad and feel disrespected and unvalued as a customer, and they dont care

A beta test is a beta test… The first week or two are testing the client and how to runs on so many different machines, and operating systems. Internal testing / Private Alpha testing, will NEVER scale enough to test millions of different machines.

After the first week (or two) once they stabilize the clients, then the beta is about finding bugs in quests, and in the game.

This is all designed around attempting (keyword: attempting) to ensure that the game is stable by November.

The game is also level capped, to get to you to SLOW DOWN… and enjoy the journey, not the end. You have many weeks of the Beta to play, not just the first day.
