China only getting 8 servers seems really strange. Though they can just add more easily enough so I guess it doesn’t matter.
On the plus side, if they’re willing to open a rp pvp server even with so few servers, that all but confirms we’ll be getting one too.
I think that there is a lot of arrogance at the top of Blizzard and they still have a lot of doubt about the games possible success. They can’t seem to full comprehend why BFA is failing and internal employee leaks that come out ever major lay off prove that the internals are is disarray. That guy that posted on 4ch or w/e image board who claimed to be a recently let go dev claimed that the game was shuffling around 1 million active subs and the BFA team was really unhappy with the talk of classic.
I still expect a bunch of humps and falls for blizzard in terms of going forward with WoW. I think that the top has put a wall up that is very anti vanilla.

Yes, still.
WoW makes up a decent chunk but the money isnt from wow as much as its from the other stuff that Blizzard sells. Hearthstone packs Overwatch Boxses and of course the WoW store.
Last i heard Hearthstone was the biggest source of cash. However, i dont follow there earnings call too much.

If someone living in China wants to play on a US server, for example a US Serviceman stationed in Beijing, why not?
The Diablo mobile game should have made it clear to all US/EU customers that they are not the primary focus of blizzard going forward.
There is way more money to be made in china and they are way more accepting of being nickel and dimed with micro transactions and loot boxes.
We shouldn’t be surprised when they get things we don’t.

Chinese Gold Farmer business practices aside, there’s millions of legitimate Chinese WOW players like you and me. And if you said “Any Chinese account is banned from playing on a US server”, you’d literally do nothing but prevent legitimate players from being able to access their accounts in China.
Because Gold Farmers don’t touch servers without a VPN which can appear to be anywhere in the world, and appear just like legitimate players who value their privacy.
Ah thats true i forget they use VPN slimy little buggers arnt they.
They’re also often based in places like North Korea, Russia, and Cambodia, but hey, blame the Chinese.

Well, I think the big news here is there appears to be a chance for an RP PVP server here. That’s awesome. There’s no reason to worry about the number of servers here. If we need more, we will have more.
