A glaring issue has come up during the discussion on the post for the recent changes to Era and HC servers - Blizzard is absolutely terrible at communications.
Are you seriously so corporate that getting in touch with a dev or seeing their thoughts/process behind making decisions about the GAME WE PAY TO PLAY is so difficult to accomplish?
If Runescape can do polls, Blizzard can too. Use that launcher space that you force feed a bunch of cash shop and outdated news posts through and INTERACT WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS.
This is absolutely shameful regardless of the stance you take with stormrend/other changes.
The community should be allowed and alerted to give feedback and be able to view results to honestly gauge the community’s thoughts on these kinds of things.
The last survey we’ve seen was during WRATH and it was about CATA. On top of that we had to have email alerts on or find out we got surveys via a 3rd party news source.
Please blizzard, be better. Communicate.

We may disagree with stormrend but you’re 100% correct, talk to your got dang community before you do changes and avoid this fallout!
Bro, I can get along with folks regardless of stance, we gotta address the real issue we’re facing here.
We shouldn’t be waiting for patches and announcements like this from blizz like they’re a boogeyman.
Set up a poll. Stop trying to sell me store mounts in retail and put a poll in my face when I log in.

Blizz, if you’re going to break with the original philosophy of Classic, at least do so intentionally and with buy-in from Era players.
We feel completely neglected when every time a major SoD patch introduces obvious bugs and feature leaks to Era. Clearly the petition and backlash got your attention enough to revert these specific changes. I hope the message on communicating with Era players was not lost.

#nochanges was once a dream to relive for many based on how classic era was relaunched in 2019.
I signed a petition shortly after the private server of Nostalrius were forced to shut down via a cease and desist but only to give Blizzard back what is rightfully theirs but not in this fashion…you’ve crossed yet another line here blizzard and by neglecting the community that once was the greatest of all time and to some still is but you single handedly have diminished it with your wrong doings and from simply not communicating with us the people the subscribers the community that still stand here 20 years later to enjoy what was once a dream to play.
Let’s fast forward now since it’s 2024, a good idea isn’t to go unmentioned or implemented for the sake of retaining originality, but you made changes that we have come to accept via communicating with us… let’s get back to what once was here for the sake of the people.

I’m out of likes for today so I gotta chime in to say Ort is 100% right about how the community deserves to be managed.
Even with the benefit of the doubt this screams project mismangement.
How did they ever expect to preserve classic era while also adding more to SoD if they’re in the same server architecture?
Given the permanence of these changes across multiple clients there is no reason the community should not have a registered voice in the process. Without it we get this tug-of-war of forum wars for who can whine the most.
It’s not good for the community and it doesn’t lead to better gameplay experiences.

JUST RUN A POLL BRO. hop in game and read LFG/trade for an hour. whisper people in game and ASK them. SOMETHING.
It seriously can’t be this hard to have some kind of communication with your playerbase. I just want Era to not feel it’s the ugly stepchild that gets ignored, or gets punished because some clout chasers online got antsy and bombed the forums while the enjoyers were IN GAME enjoying.
The situation is just tragic either view you have.
“No changes” mattered before Season of Diluting the classic player base. Now common sense should be fine. And above all agreed about communication. Too much money flying around to not run a poll. Draw some attention to it and wait to hear from a reasonable sample size of the player base. We don’t even get our own client on Era. Just the crapped up SoD client.
