Spec designed to use pets always uses pets. Specs that can use a pet but for the longest time had a talent that made not using one better was very likely to not be used.
Well, NOW you’ve really crossed a line! For the safety of myself AND my family, before Sen. McCarthy can come a’knockin’ at my door with his cronies and goons, I would like to say, here and now, without equivocation, that I am not now, nor have I ever been, a member of the Flat Earth Society!
I swear!
I was WAITING for this exact thread.
Grabs popcorn
Everyone knew that would happen right? The argument starts out “i just want my pet I don’t care if it is a dps loss” then as soon as they get the pet back it is “why am I punished for having a pet out I should be doing the same dps regardless”. This was the entirely predictable outcome.
Blizz should have just stuck to their original plan.
You’re allowed to play MM with a pet - that’s why they made Unbreakable Bond - but they’ve said they don’t want it to be as effective as being petless. That will allow them to focus the design the class around being petless in high-end content (the thing they set out to do) instead of needing to constantly juggle both like they were prior to 11.1 with Lone Wolf. That’s the compromise.
We literally called this months ago. It’s glorious.
I honestly just hate that there’s not single pet ranged spec anymore. Every since Legion BM lost it’s identity as being in tune with a single pet and empowering them to be some pokemon trainer throwing out beasts en masse to the point you can’t even tell what’s on screen when they’re all out at once. MM is a substantial DPS loss when you have a pet and SV is melee. Really frustrating how blizz treats hunters honestly one of the classes that has had it’s entire identity ripped apart and rebuilt since Legion with no concern for long time players of it.
I’m a long time hunter main (since late BC) and I really enjoy the current variety in the specs. You don’t speak for everyone. I was skeptical about melee SV when it first came out, but now I find it extremely fun. I played petless ranged SV in dungeons/raids in WoD and think a primarily petless MM fits in perfectly.
Wish they gave mages the same courtesy.
neither do you clearly and I said I as in me I don’t like the current specs.

neither do you clearly
I never claimed to.
You said

with no concern for long time players of it.
and that’s obviously not true in my case.
I’m sorry that you lack reading comprehension and also feel the need to react so aggressively to everything.
100%. I enjoy the demon menagerie for warlocks but it’s so hard now to pin down an actual class identity for hunter. No matter what race you’re playing it feels so disjointed.
As a MM hunter I am fine without using a pet in raids or dungeons.
What I and a lot of others wanted was the ability to use a pet in open world and delves as pocket tanks.
We accepted that we would take a loss without the benefit of spoters mark when having our pet out.

The way it is, you are simply forcing mm hunters to use Spotter’s Mark.

react so aggressively
Apparently “react so aggressively” means “disagree with me.” I didn’t insult you, your reading comprehension or otherwise say anything mean to you. I just pointed out that your experience isn’t universal and not all hunters feel as if the devs have no concern for us. I’m sorry that upsets you.
Exactly. Even for BM and SV, you can reasonably make up builds for soloing that are nerfed on dps compared to what you would build for a raid or dungeon. There are always tradeoffs.
I expressed an opinion and your immediate response was “YOU DON’T SPEAK FOR ME!!!” so yeah aggressively.
I think OP is just baiting people in here talking about how they want to use a pet instead of petless in instanced content .
I was a part of may of those threads about wanting pets back for open world content only and the other feeling this is a bait thread is the number of total forum posts the OP has .

How would you have worded it?
I would not have responded because I don’t have such a big ego that I need to tell someone their opinion is wrong.
I didn’t say your opinion is wrong. Opinions by their nature can’t be right or wrong. I said your opinion isn’t universal, especially as you did speak in universal terms, or at least terms beyond just your own experience, as I pointed out (Blizzard’s alleged lack of concern for long time players). Not trying to be insulting but you have to be very oversensitive to get bent out of shape by that.
