Blizz - Call it early for a change

The community warned you about azerite traits and reforging. They warned you about essence obtainment and alt-unfriendliness. They warned you about corruption balance and attainment.

You were eventually forced to concede, after achieving nothing but annoying a massive amount of your customers.

The community is now reacting and letting you know what it thinks about covenants being “difficult to change”. This is clearly a system that simply can not work for anyone who wants to play more than 1 type of content or play more than 1 role on a single character. It can not work in the game we are playing.

It will feel bad and we’ll all be focusing on what we want and can’t have, when playing other content or roles than what we based our choice on.

For once in your existence, listen and call it early. You have the time now. If not, it’ll be another huge mistake. Every time you ignore and steamroll ahead, you get proven wrong and are eventually forced to accept the feedback.

Ask yourself this - What do you realistically think the odds are of people saying:

“You know what? I love being sub-optimal for a large percentage of my playtime. It’s great, who knew?”

Because that’s what you’re currently doubling down on.

The same goes for the AOE changes. The community has rebelled about this before and you were forced to revert. It will do so again.

What in the world are you thinking.

I think you feel like you hold a lot more power over people than you actually do.

You must be hateful.

I like everything about Covenants right now.

If you cannot do PVP or mythics or raid because you’re lacking an ability that’s pretty bad.

If that’s the case, wow is a bad game since you need certain abilities to succeed.

It’s crazy how many people care about min-maxing on these forums.

Then I look at the content these same guys are doing, and they’re not even doing content where min-maxing is relevant to them.

You’d get better reactions if your material was above a 3.

Not arguing for or against, but this time we’re getting a feel for the expansion’s setup very, very early on in the process which hopefully should change things a little. I think this alpha is probably the closest we’ve had to a full picture this early on.

If it turns out to be a big problem during alpha testing, for sure, go nuts.

Well that’s because you have an amazing jaw line. And your pores?? I could stick my fist in them. You’re a marvelous specimen.

Then could it be about something other then min-maxing? Could it be not wanting a talent tier turned into a borrowed power system tied to a cosmetic choice?

Can someone tell those 3000 Sub rogues on Warcraft logs that they’re playing the game wrong and according to GD they need to be 100% optimal to clear the content they cleared already?

Let’s not get carried away here. Conceding is a strong word for Blizz.

What would Covenants give? Just cosmetics. Wowee, lame.

They give you a specific storyline, which people have said a million times already.

Also lame.

Nah i support the current system, the whiners who want to be optimal for every boss, every m+ and any encountered shouldnt be pandered too and thankfully Ion realized that when he said "A section of the community still needing to adapt and get passed the pure simcraft driven mindset that has dominated"

Keep whining though that you are not allowed to have everything like a child, real choices have drawbacks and sacrifices, real RPG elements, those words are unknown to entitled gamers TM sadly.

I love this

That’s basically the point of covenants, so seems to me like you find them to be lame.

The point of Covenants is their specific ability. Cosmetics and lore are just extra, as they always have been.
You think this game is about quality lore? Lol BFA would like a word.
