Blizz apparently forgot what Blacksmithing WQs are

ActiBlizz gave up on professions after WoD.

Semper Fi! :us:

corrected, yes I meant to say easier = less profit

it really wasn’t just my opinion - this website shows average price across all servers

https://theunderminejournal.com/#us

Just because people buy the stuff doesn’t mean they like paying those prices.

They buy it because of some self-conceived notion of they are “forced” to buy such things.

At the end of the day, it’s still overpriced.

But hey, I love me some sellers’ tears where they cry that they can’t effortlessly make thousands and thousands of gold, bilking people just trying to gear up alts, lol.

they bought them because it was a great timing saving deal - I sold over a million in one day after one of the patches because for 50k someone could totally gear up their characters to normal raid ilvl gear.

And now you’re crying because in SL, anybody can do the same for themselves, instead of paying your ridiculous prices to do it for them, lol.

really, I would gladly pay double that (100k) if I could go to the ah and buy a set of ilvl 226 gear.

and you are badly missing something if you don’t think people could make their own gear in BfA, there was nothing stopping them at all.

Nothing other than how badly designed the whole expansion was, how much of an annoyance everything was to get, the Expulsom grind, the need for mats obtained from Heroics, etc.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I cared about the profession system in Retail lol… idk if that is sad, or a silent jab at the pointlessness of it when compared to the impact they used to have in what is now referred to as Classic Era.

oh so you think - a little effort required = can’t make their own gear.

They failed in a lot of things… professions are a huge one of them. Don’t forget regarding expulsom, that they even nerfed a lot of what you could get so now that part CAN BE more tedious to get.

/shrug

I suppose we have differing opinions of what constitutes a fair amount of effort. I don’t think that throwing thousands of gold in a shredder praying for a rare drop is a reasonable amount of effort to make a piece of armor. I just don’t.

I like Shadowlands crafting, it’s way better in every way. Other than maybe bilking money out of people on the AH that is.

I think they did too. I used to get expulsom quests all the time when the content was current but I was leveling up BfA professions on another account and I actually didn’t see all that many. I used to get quests for 10 expulsom.

And regarding scrapping to get expulsom.

people didn’t have to do anything extra except play the game to make their own gear in BfA - you did WQ you got trinkets and those guarantee you expulsom. Gear was all over and same thing you just took it to the scrapper. Plenty of expulsom quests when content was current as well.

BoP crafting materials just suck in every way.

When I saw Expulsom in BfA, I literally rolled my eyes and went “we’re doing THIS again? Did they learn nothing from MoP?”

And sure enough, during the first month or so of BfA, my Miner/Enchanter wound up with 20+ Expulsom that she had literally 0 use for (I don’t need wands on any of my characters) and my armor makers couldn’t get enough of it.

Between that, and just how bad the expansion was everywhere else, I said ‘screw it’ and stopped playing during BfA and came back for SL. Breathed a huge sigh of relief when SL professions were way better. Still are, to this day.

Gear progression itself is just… better. At least… until you get to raiding. But for the casual player who doesn’t do Mythics or Raids? It’s just better in SL.

disagree strongly - the only thing good about SL is that you don’t really even need gear except for Torghast and if you did PvP.

Nazjatar and Mechagon were quite annoying zones, I tried them to unlock flying and I rather disliked most of my time in those zones.

I found that the content in Ul’dum and the Vale was similarly not a lot of fun (especially if undergeared) and I played for a short while before SL released, and I saw how terrible that whole corruption thing was, thank God I never did much of it while it was current.

But, in SL, I can make my alts 151 gear, and go to Korthia. The first few forays in there need to be done with caution, but overall, Korthia is a far better zone than the “can’t stick a pin inbetween the mobs” crap that Mechagon was, or the “everything is ridiculously overpowered and the terrain sucks” that Nazjatar was.

Getting from 151 to 200+ isn’t that bad at all, do 3 dailies a day, and the weekly box is quite rewarding, always looked forward to popping that bad boy open.

Only reason I’ve slacked off on gearing alts through Korthia is the fact that the Maw Intro is keeping a lot of my alts stuck in Azeroth, which will be fixed in 9.1.5. They’re going to make Leatherworking and Tailoring a bit less painful (always hated how rare Callous Hides were), and I can just zip my alts into Korthia and I can have fun gearing them all up to 226, just like I used to do back in the Timeless Isle.

I miss the random heroics for badges to upgrade the armor, but eh. Oh well.

you don’t need any gear for world content, you are wasting your mats.

I just finished leveling up my 50 druid to 60 with pet battles and gathering and just got a free weapon and had no problems doing any world content with less than ilvl 120 gear - my BfA gear plus a weapon.

Torghast is a bit rough with ilvl 120 gear though.

Eh? Have you tried Korthia at 100-120? lol.

I doubt it.

Also, once you get above 150ish, open world content in the 4 zones starts getting far, far smoother and easier. At 200, you kill stuff twice as fast as you did when you were <150.

Open world scales with you until about 140ish, and then it stops, and finally lets your gear start to matter.

I have done maw at less than 120 and I never found much difference from the maw and korthia

you really don’t know what you are talking about - my druid at 200 plus was killing things at the same rate as my druid at ilvl 120. Both ferals played one right after the other in the same content.
