Blizz apparently forgot what Blacksmithing WQs are

I did the expulsom grind on 6 characters for my 475s and my main had to recraft her legs 8 times before she got crit/vers

embrace the cloth bracer making grind

Trinkets are also 100% expulsom disassemble

Meh, no thanks.

I don’t relish dumping what would be hundreds and hundreds of gold into a machine hoping to get an expulsom every now and then, esp. when recipes take 3+ of them for a single craft, and even then those recipes go yellow at 165, and just a couple weeks ago I made 3 of them and got 0 skill.

Also, “trinkets are 100%” … yeah, good luck finding trinkets to throw in the shredder with any frequency, lol.

Are you making the marks of honor recipe ones?

The notorious stuff got me to 175 fairly quickly on every character if i remember

You can try throwing the bfa pvp trinkets from the vendor into it

Yeah, and it goes yellow at 165.

Unless you use marks of honor to buy rank2, which requires PvP. /puke

Ah can’t help you then

I’ve always done rank 2 and rank 3 without hassle

And that brings up yet another glaring flaw with BfA’s crafting system: the reliance upon PvP to max out crafting.

Terrible, terrible design.

Hopefully whoever came up with that system is no longer working at the company.

Thats kinda wild that you’d rather wait 2 months to get 5 skills than get 2000 honor with afking an epic bg tbh :stuck_out_tongue:

(Theres a vendor in oribos that sells 5 marks of honor for 2000 honor currency, winning a non max level bg gives gold loot boxes with marks of honor and comp stomp which starts in nov gives marks of honor for beating an AI you can’t lose against)

Ashran has a quest that gives you 1000 honor for ignoring the game and turning in 50 relic fragments also

PvP is horribly balanced and I’ve always stayed as far away from it as I possibly can.

/shrug

And maybe, if the World Quest system actually functioned in a reasonable way and put out Blacksmithing Quests more than once every 2 weeks, maybe it wouldn’t take two months to max out the crafts. And/or if Mining for Expulsom ever came up more than once a month.

But sure, insist that I go do some entirely different system that I have less-than-zero interest in that shouldn’t even be a part of the equation in the first place.

I’m not insisting, i’m giving you options :woman_shrugging: Blizz isnt going to change the outdated bfa system so you work with what you have or you don’t get what you want

Maybe they won’t change the system, but it’s important to let them know how much this crap sucks, and why it sucks so they don’t repeat the same mistakes later.

They tend to forget crap unless we constantly remind them or they end up doing the same stupid crap over and over again.

Right but in the immediate future, telling them it sucks doesn’t make your 2 month long wait any shorter :stuck_out_tongue:

Look into comp stomp. Everyone who doesn’t want to pvp does it for the honor mogs and it only costs 6 marks for the rank 2 and 3

Gl with the prof bar maxing

Or just spend the hour to make the cloth bracers and do the flip and have your blacksmithing maxed…in like an hour

if you had played all the way through BfA you would have all those bars filled just by doing DMF

Way to fail reading the thread.

I already said above I took a hiatus during a huge chunk of BfA because of how terrible the expansion was.

really ? this is what I read, point it out please

You didn’t scroll down and read the replies.

It sometimes helps to skim over a thread to see if what you have in mind might have already been said, and responded to.

Esp. when the thread is only 35 posts long. I get not scrolling through 100+ posts, but 30? C’mon.

No, I rarely read the entire thread.

I am curious how you think you are in a position to comment on how good professions were in BfA though if you barely played it. I made over 20 million gold from BfA professions because they were well designed from an actual crafters view.

SL professions on the other hand aren’t really.

And those professions WQ aren’t intended for people to actually level up entirely with them anyway. Just as the SL ones aren’t. You don’t get anymore profession quests in SL than you did in BfA when the content was current.

Because I can see how much of a PITA they are to level, how many missing slots there are, and the ridonkulous costs of everything, even the basic items to make?

You’re looking at it purely from a seller’s point of view, you’re not considering how much of a hell this was on people wanting to buy your overpriced crap and/or people wanting to make their own stuff.

Not everybody is hardcore and wanting to dump hundreds of hours just to be able to make their alts some gear. That’s what BfA was missing. SL fixed this, now you can make your alts gear. Sure that hurts you, the seller, but it benefits everybody else, and that’s a win-win.

My point since the OP was, SOME professions can sometimes see multiple quests in a week while others wait 2 weeks+ with no quests at all. There’s always 1 quest every 12 hours (11AM and 11PM EST) at least in BfA (Shadowlands, I never noticed because… gasp leveling the professions isn’t such a PITA), but it really stinks when you see that Leatherworking has gotten a quest 3 times in a week but Blacksmithing is going on 2 weeks with zero quests.

It just seems to me that they shouldn’t have used pure RNG on this, that there should be some kind of system in place to ensure better balance.

the easier professions are to level, the less money people generally make from them because every lazy person doesn’t level them and throw the results on the ah.

my crap wasn’t overpriced, that is exactly why people bought so much.

you probably haven’t levelled them all

I personally think Shadowland professions are just terrible for people who just want to make their own crap. All those vendors items you have to buy is just ridiculous. Shadowlands professions are even worse to level up when you come late to an expansion than BfA’s are in fact because you have no hope of getting your $$$ back.

I think you made a mistake in there, lol.

That’s your opinion. A lot of people will oftentimes buy things they think they “must” have, even if they think it’s overpriced because they “must” have it. You see this all the time IRL if you ever worked retail. They whine about the price but still plunk their money on the table all the same. Very few people (I happen to be one of the few) have the self-control to put their foot down and say “NO”.

I actually did. I have the achievement for having all the professions leveled. It was 10x easier than BfA.
