Some people go to Disney World every year, and ride the same attractions and visit the same buildings and see the same characters. Why? Can’t put a price on experiencing an event in person.
Nobody goes to BlizzCon for all the panels they can get on YT while they’re on the convention floor. At least not since the advent of the virtual ticket.
They already released the floorplan that includes Arclight Rumble, so the only thing they could announce that would really be a surprise would be discussing Odyssey
I think everyone is already expecting the next WoW x-pack to be announced.
Is anyone excited about Blizzcon tho?
Like, how much disposable income do you have to have to drop that kind of money on a Blizzard event? I mean, for that amount to be totally inconsequential to you. (ETA, realized my post might not be clear) Also, like…I have yet to run into anyone who is into wearing rose-tinted glasses about Blizz to pony up.
I’m genuinely asking from curiosity-- I could afford to go, but I live in the actual literal other corner of the lower 48 and I just can’t imagine spending that much money and time to go to a thing to meet other people from this playerbase.
I mean… not my cup of tea but I’m sure people just like conventions for the social aspect.
I doubt anybody really cares that much to spend hundreds of dollars for something someone could record and put on YT anyways or write in an article online regarding information and reveals. It’s all about the good fun.
Maybe… I don’t really chase game rumors though. Often they lead to disappointment. Heck, Blizzcon can lead to disappointment when what is announced doesn’t look like the final product.
My sleepy little town in the sticks exploded with tourists this spring, and that’s when I learned of this fascinating little phenomenon. Probably a lot of people going to Blizzcon this year wouldn’t have gone any other year, too, for this reason.
Would love to see a survey, but I love my data analytics.
