I miss WSG use to be able to play WSG all day long and I didnt care about running in premades. I would stand off to the side and dared anyone to come at me 1v1. =) Usually, didnt even well for that person.
Please, please bring back WSG. Make “for Great Honor” to give a TON of honor and people will play all 3 bgs again.
should just make every BG get that treatment so people can queue the BGs when it is their respective weekends. or revert the change.
wsg did get the same treatment. 7500. Issue with wsg is premades or any team can forece a game to never end. In AB if a single flag is ever clicked the game will 100 percent end. In wsg the flag can be held for days by premades just farming and trolling kids.
No they didnt… WSG doesnt have the same token turn in as AB does. Its not 7.5k honor per turn in.
OP, you spelled “AV” wrong.
The problem (I think) is that in every game that is actually competitive, it ALWAYS devolves into the same meta of 2 nearly unkillable flag carriers (usually druids, but not always) continuously using map/jump exploits that make the match never end. It’s basically a battle of trying to bore the other team into typing /afk.
Adding a match timer wouldn’t change the issue. All that would do is let you know beforehand how much time you’re about to waste doing the same skirmishes in the same chokepoints against the same defenders on repeat, only to end with a 0 vs 0 score making both PvP-ers and honor-grinders unhappy.
Here’s my idea that would make me play again. For every minute the flag is away from a base, the flag carriers max-HP is reduced by 10-20% with the effect being tied to the flag (so it doesn’t matter if you switch carriers). That’s it. I believe many of us would start signing up again.

Should just put a 30-45 minute timer on WSG. I love wsg but as you said 1 premade and you’re being held hostage
Putting a timer on won’t get anyone to queue for WSG unfortunately. “Don’t worry guys, the way you’re being held hostage won’t change, but at least now you know you’ll only be a hostage for 30-45 minutes” is not compelling.
Even with premades being rampant I have never had that experience of being held hostage. I mean, afk out if it looks like they are playing that way. But, I can probably count on one hand how many times I have afk’d out bgs.
Also, if people stop rez’n they will force them to cap and move on.
That is a 100% fine take on matches that aren’t competitive.
It’s the match ups with skilled players that I like. The problem is that good players will do everything possible to win, but in WSG the best possible strategy leads to pointless/long/boring games. No one wants to waste their time in a queue just to get stuck in an endless WSG.
But I havent really experience that much. The only problem I see if you get no honor/rep if you get 3-0. But, give losing team 2 tokens, would help with that. =) Alliance might continue to throw games. lol
what I love about wsg is a single player can turn the tide and win games. I’m usually that single player. =) lol
WSG is absolutely terrible if you want honor but its the best BG if you don’t care about honor. If they ever do something like Rated BGs in some form, it would be cool they reserved WSG for that and just let AB be for honor. They’d have to fix the 15 different terrain exploits/bugs that all the sweaty druids have memorized though.
All they need to do is lower the turn in value of AB marks and greatly increase the turn in for the all mark combination. Make it even more than the AB mark turn in now.
Boom, now all the bgs are active again.

Its because AB is by far the best BG for getting honor per hour. Nobody going for ranks wants to sit in 50+ minute WSG games with idiots fighting in the middle or druids griefing with terrain exploits. Premade vs. premade games can last a very long time too if they don’t end up win trading.
AB is the best honor per hour bg because it has a timer and high token turn in honor. Give that same treatment to WSG and make all three tokens turn in give a ton of honor like 10K+ and bam… people will queue for all 3.
PS. and by timer I mean… it will eventually end. =) Give the same thing to WSG resources given while they are holding the flag like that no one will be able to prelong the games.
I was more so putting that recommendation in alongside the increase to honor from the marks as well. Atleast another viable option to do aside from AB spam.

Seriously, I think it’s time for some Alliance vs Alliance / Horde vs Horde for BG queues.
This would, possibly, create more PVPers to come back since right now (at times) on Alliance it just feels so pointless (especially AB).
I just love AV even at Exalted because it’s always been my favorite BG and now I can only do it every dang 3 weeks…

You legit asked for increased honor rewards so more people would q for wsg so you can stand off to the side and 1v1 people, while the rest of the team either wins or stand around watching you 1v1 for fast losses.
