Uh. You’re misconstruing it. That’s not the sky breaking open. It’s the trophy signaling competitors to come. You know - the trophy in the thumbnail. That’s not the sky breaking open.
Further, more than one of those scenes is on Draenor, and it’s impossible to see the sky breaking open from another planet.
That is literally just light coming out of the golden statue, no idea where you see Sylvanas. It’s 100% not this Tuesday.
… Let’s go over this again class. These championships are irrelevant to the release of pre-patch. These servers are managed separately and have no say on the release of the squish, or not. These can still continue in all their glory while pre-patch is released, and still be operating under the parameters set forth by the rules of the AWC, etc.
It will get here soon enough, and some of you, would have been flamingly furious if it had released earlier because you waited to get things done till the last minute. Blizz has this under control, and no doubt, laughs at the posts questioning their ability to do so.
After all, they are the ones at the helm. Not us. 
That would be impressive since they’ve already said Tuesday’s maintenance is “regularly scheduled” and only lists extended maintenance for the realms being merged.
Everytime someone makes a pre patch post Blizzard delays it by another twelve hours.
