Blitz - Targeting Healers from start to finish

I’m not complaining i think its kinda cool. But I read lots of threads about how healers were so op and cant be killed. But in blitz im finding healers are being trained and sat on entire match. ive been in the gy more than i have been since bfa. When i was doing regular rated bgs in the past healers were only cc’d because they were hard to kill but im finding im just getting face-pumped and blasted…again not complain just noticing the shift. i like the challenge but im noticing my healing done is quite high but a lot of the heals done are on me. and i think its just cuz healers are being targeted from opening to closing. anyone else noticing?>

If a spec has some above average CC volume, a silence, knockbacks, grips, or other nice healer disruptive tools, I expect them to use them on the healer when appropriate. Free casting enemy healers does make kills and objectives more difficult.

If I play a spec with little actually useful healer negating tools, then mostly just maximizing damage the enemy healer has to heal or go where the healer isn’t might be better.

Some players may get the impression healers and tanks are unkillable and are to be avoided at all costs just because they are under geared, under experienced, or playing a sustained damage spec or build and cant burst down a healer in a stun or two.

Sticking to a healer can be super effective if your spec has lots of CCs and Slows so the healer isnt near the actual kill target, like in flag carrying maps.

Pre-patch balance blah blah blah
Health pool increase yadda yadda
Hero talents later yack yack
Ele Sham and DK derp derp

As tactics go, it makes sense, healers are high priority, no one in their right mind would let a healer free cast.

Unless they are in the middle of a giant brawl and healers are extending the fun for both parties then yeah.

I must say thou, the feeling of getting trained by the whole opponent team while I get no peels is a masochistic one, are healers just people with a kink?

I actually haven’t played much in pre patch as it’s always an unbalanced mess lol…

Honestly I find that the difference in skill between players in this game is nuts. Like a good healer can stay alive easy vs 3 bad DPS. Meanwhile one good dps can murder a bad healer.

That’s why I’m extra pumped for blitz. Eventually everyone should even out and that difference…

Speaking as a healer: Guess it’s business as usual.

Plz gib peels

Yeah I dunno…know it’s the end of an xpac and blizz basically just lets everything burn to the ground.
Yeah getting trained all match is masochistic haha  it i suck st dps I haven’t dpsd since burning crusade and even then I shouldn’t have been

It’s harder to survive in prepatch but it depends on the specs. It seems the weirdly high armor scaling has driven away some MMs, which is simply lovely.

yeah if i never see a hunter ever again i would totally be fine with that. I think over the entire time of WoW they have been the most celebrated, biased in favour of, easiest to play, every thing has always been given to that class. i could handle if they sat on the bench entire tww xpac. Give ele shams and frost dk and feral and outlaw some mclovin. hpal in bgs

Definitely made me change talents from Prayer of mending build to single target flash/serenity lightweaver build. I even took divine word over divine image.

Only way to keep yourself alive with 6 mongo dps on you all game.

But I enjoy being trained, ez win.

Always better to CC and kick healers, rather than train them.

For every game you join where you’re sat on the entire match, are about 10+ other games where they dont bother with the healer while their healer bunny hops in the background eating cheetos casting their full heals to their allies, while at the same time having enough time to read a book and regain mana to full.

Healers are very strong and this is the only way to take care of them unless you want endless CC, because of the amount of times healers can full heal from 5%. If the game damage/healing wasnt so spikey, it wouldnt be so bad.

yeah damage and heal spikes are pretty ludicris right now. if i screw up in an opening team fight and im slow or behind the 8 ball in some kind of a rotation people are dying all over the place. if im on the ball…i can keep my team alive unless im against smart players who have coordinated cc. then its gg

Does focusing the healer actually work? How many players does it take to be effective. I feel like if I am the only one doing it, it is kind of a waste of time despite all the CC and pressure I can apply.

You mean like a Blood DK?

I think it’s rude to attack healers. Leave them alone!
