Yeah it can be rough. In node maps being able to call throughout the whole game is super helpful, but in kotmogu for example I think you’re in large part at the mercy of your team (esp healers).
One other observation is that if you want to CC cap a base at low MMR you should actively avoid places where another teammate is there since they break ccso often
You’re not wrong. I’m climbing on my evoker and it is incredibly hard. People at lower ratings will just quit and throw at the slightest thing and it completely ruins it for everyone.
I’ll do a few games today and see what the climbing is like~ I’ve felt like everything is slow to go up though

I’m not seeing chunky point gains. Think MMR was stealth nerfed, because activity hasn’t dropped off that significantly from the data I’ve seen. We 10-0’d yesterday and just logged off, because the mmr wouldn’t go up and it was boring.
That or everyone is just surged up with the initial push and the mmr is so decimated at the lower end. Def the first time I go losless and don’t feel like I’m making significant mmr gains.
Edit: the mmr isn’t as significantly high as winning near 20 games in a row should lead to either.
I’m willing to bet almost all players above 2400 used duo queue. It gives you a significant advantage, which unfortunately removes a lot of the competitive integrity. Think about people queing boomkin mw, or rogue mw. They are significantly increasing the odds that their team will have a good comp, plus they can coordinate in discord giving them 4 eyes instead of 2
Not the first wave, but 2400 last week. I think Amatox just hit 2400.
That’s the fun part. You don’t! I was getting upset about it too until I realized I would win more games if I focused on doing my job well instead of trying to cover other peoples’ mistakes.
If you’re a good node sitter, make sure that node is never lost. Eventually the other team might devote 2-3 to try to take it from you and then your team has a nimbers advantage at other nodes.
Agree with this mostly and is eventually the conclusion I came to when I realized it’s not realistic for me to type out how stuff works every BG. I thought about making macros for each BG but was like cba to do that.
I had a great streak on demo last night winning almost 10 in a row. Ended up going from 1500’s to like 1640 and mmr was basically the same.
Agree OP, I dont even see a Glad going far in a fresh Blitz rating… No matter how good you are, when you are in a team of 7 goobers running around in circles lost, its not gonna work…
Though I have seen Monks and Rogues Literally carry teams! Improvised resto monk FC tanks, and rogues doing objectives.
Blitz isn’t a mode you can take serious. at all. Just now I qued a blitz game with a prevoker on a glad mount who called the strat… then proceeded to not follow his own strat… do less healign than the other 3 healers and lost us the game to a team 300 mmr lower than ours…
Now … I could cry about it… like I kinda just did… heh… but it’s blitz. so screw it! the mode is a joke!
the first week swung mmr way higher than it currently does, but no one wants to admit it
my first hunter got 2k in like 50 games, my second one has a way better winrate and is 1750 at 42 games and that’s with an 8-2 start of my first 10 games on my second character
something changed with the system but again, people will cope and say they are just placements
im just grinding through it since there’s nothing better to do

Just a tip, good players don’t go through the game with one strat in mind, pvp is not mythic plus. They dynamically change their strategy depending on what is happening in the game. It’s not really surprising they called one thing and ended up doing something else.
it was an EOTS. not sure how many strats there are for that map in blitz… but if one of them isn’t sitting between the flag and a node… healing a fight “and still being lowest heals in the blitz” while not responding to inc calls… I’m going to go ahead and stand with my initial statement on the matter.
Healers and Tanks get the biggest shafts on CR loss. They get put into games sometimes where thier CR is 500 higher than MMR because those roles are needed. Seen a 2500 MW lose about 40 pts and say in chat, yup I knew I should of stopped Queing. The team was terrible.
As Prot I was waiting for 17 min in Que for a game, I requed 8 mins latter finally got in and I should of stopped. I got put in a low MMR game, I should of known better from the long Que. I have the highest CR on the team and whelp… You know what happened next dinged for 18 CR.
Obviously Blitz needs some MMR and other changes since it’s a great mode. However you can’t just Que it up as some people in here say…
That doesn’t work anymore. They also started too throttle MMR and CR gains to match Shuffle.
Control two bases, and holding the flag (as a cherry on top) is the current desired strat.
Or control one base, and control mid is the less efficient, more room for the enemy team to turn the game around strat.
That’s about it. Though some teams prefer the ‘send one guy to your base and lose it, send 5 people mid to pick their noses, and send 2 people to invade the enemy base and never get it’ strat.
Yea when or how to Que now is almost as important as Blitz strat. I’m just sitting Rank 1 now…Like I want to Que more but there is no benefit in doing that for me with the current system.
If I get thrown into a low MMR and win I get 3-5 CR which granted a lot of times I do win low MMR games especially if it’s FCing where I have an impact. However if it’s AB and my team is terrible I get dinged for -20.
Win streaks also don’t matter a ton either. It’s not like I can just get put into 2400 groups because I have to Que against another Tank and there also have to be high MMR healers Queing.
Yea the risk vs reward for Healer/Tanks is pretty harsh. So looks like this week I’ll be playing some Throne and Liberty. Besides I can’t get any new Conquest items this week with the harsh conquest restrictions.
Blitz is a great new mode, TWW overall is fun but Blizz has to figure this out.
