Blitz mmr question?

How does it work? I decided I’d do some blitz on my holy paladin and the mmr seems all over the place. I won my first 6 matches, and then have won 1 and lost 1 back and forth the last few matches. My mmr is in the mid 1800s, and I’m in these now with brand new dps who have no gear and even less of an idea.

I’ve won 9 of my 13 matches, why is my mmr the same as someone who hasn’t done a single match?

Edit: I then lose 2 consecutive matches, and it plunges my mmr into the 1500’s…great system, I can see why everyone is just quesyncing and running premades.

Lotta factors. Initial games have you sliding up and down a lot with jumps of like 300 mmr.

Because they can’t get CR in the easiest to push bracket that has ever existed in this game aside from the same mode last season? :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:

Goes over it all.

Edit: It’s funny, I can link wowhead.com articles, but not blizz support articles.

I get that, but what I don’t understand is why I’m in 1800 games with people with 0 CR? If I’ve had to “work” my way up by running at like a 70% win rate to only get there and have people who have less situational awareness than Helen Keller in there with 0 games played this season.

After seeing so many threads, videos, and all the shady stuff that goes on, and has gone on for years in arena, I’m convinced that the only reason 99% of the players that have super high MMR are queue syncing and win trading.

I would imagine starter MMR is generous at this point.

Unless it’s only generous to dps. My starter mmr was in the 1200s as a holy paladin.

Thats why you dont understand MMR and are lower rated. Its pretty easy to say cheaters at every loss but understanding why your losing and other people are winning is the real goal you need to achieve

It’s really just

  1. play better

  2. play more

Ye. :dracthyr_a1: I’ll try to explain to a friend that’s sort of not that great at pvp things he could or should be doing and it’s always “that’s small and doesn’t matter” but fundamentally all the little things matter the most.

People losing their node twice then going “yeah but our other guy lost his 3 times” isn’t helpful to them in the future and all that.

Or…there has been extensive proof since rated pvp was introduced to this game that huge populations of the top player base have be caught cheating or using clever game mechanics or anythign else to get to the top.

I know why I lose when I lose, my question is why am I in groups with players with 0 cr, at an mmr that has taken x amount of games for me to get to?

Okay that I can’t explain. I thought the floor (if there is one) was 1500.

Nah, my first lobb on my new prot warr was like 1320

although 15 games later I’m like 2800 :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

I’ve got a screen shot of my first game, but it won’t let me (I don’t know how to) upload it.

I’m 14-7, at 1721

And:
3. somehow keep your sanity while your teammates do EVERYTHING in their power to make you lose, which is basically 90% of all EotS matches.

Yeah, the patience is tested. :dracthyr_lulmao: Which is why it’s good to try your best to tune out the unavoidable losses because they’re inevitable and honestly sort of…irrelevant? And just focus on tidying up your play and then playing enough so the good play matters.

Yeah, I get all that. But playing more is not the answer if I lose more than I gain when I win.

Game 21- 1836
we win
Game 22- 1928
we lose
Game 23-1809

I gain less than 100 for a win, and lose over 100 on a loss…
We won game 23, so I have to wait to see what my mrr is in game 24, but I’m betting it didn’t jump back up to what it was at the start of game 22.

Edit: It’s 1925, so close.

You have to play a lot of games before things become more stable.

If ur losing alot ur above ur intended rating and if ur losing nothing ur right where u should be

You’re still in placements. Play more and it will level out

How many games are “placement” games?

I started ranking my BM spec and oh boy my starting MMR was 1200… the players you find there move like bots… I think bots are botting the low mmr… it is insane the level of play.
