Blitz - I am Alliance. Why am I assigned to Horde?

I am alliance. I queue for Battleground Blitz and…WHOA…I am on Horde? Why? Can I stop this from happening? If I wanted to play on the Horde side I would have made a Horde character. When I play for the Alliance side, I win more than 50% of the time. When I am thrown onto the Horde side, its almost a guaranteed loss.

Why does this happen? Can I stop this from happening? Is there an option I am not selecting?

I believe that there is a close account option that can prevent this from happening. Otherwise, no. Blitz is cross faction.

Allow me to guess why you get more wins on the Alliance side in Blitz Battlegrounds: when assigned to the Horde, you occasionally feel disoriented, such as mistakenly attempting to return the flag to the Alliance base instead of the Horde base, or believing your team is in the lead when, in reality, you are not.

Statistically Blitz Battlegrounds should be balanced.

In the early parts of my experience with Blitz, most of that is true. Except for running to the wrong base, I didn’t realize I was on the “wrong” faction. And I can’t just blame the Horde for being bad, I know that’s not the case. However. I find that when I am assigned to my original faction, Alliance, we seem to win more for whatever reason. When I am on Horde, a loss is almost guaranteed. I just want to play for Alliance. Period.

It is well known that just getting placed on the Horde side makes you bad. Even R1/Hero alliance players play at a 1200 MMR level when placed on the Horde team.

This is why you see people say things like “Horde sucks” right before a losing score board in Blitz even though it is cross faction.

It’s just science.

You are indeed a scientist and I respect your scientific theorem.

The science is settled?

I think it has to be.

Whether Horde is good or bad doesn’t matter. Lets say your MMR is 2000. Even if generally Horde players are truly worse than Alliance players, you’ll still be matched with Horde players who also approximately have an MMR of 2000.

Just the percentile rank of Horde players with an MMR of 2000 might be higher on the Horde side compared to Alliance players with an MMR of 2000 on the Alliance side.

I get it. I just don’t like it. I understand it is a perceived unbalance. But i still want to play with my clean, Alliance brethren.

I don’t mind if I’m NOT Alliance. But making me the opposite faction is such a bad idea. Just make neutral symbols. For the love of god.

Blitz is cross faction.

Let’s say of all the people queuing for battlegrounds, 80% are Alliance and 20% are Horde. Those 80% would have to wait forever.

Rated BGs are always mixed in order to prevent such lengthy waiting times.

They need to re-work the UI so it’s obvious which “faction” is carrying flags/holding orbs etc.

This will probably not be a popular opinion but they should make regular battlegrounds cross faction.

They should add minimum iLvl gear scaling while they’re at it so people can’t “grief” with a fresh max level character in pve quest greens…

I don’t think they will do that, and unfortunately to many players are selfish and don’t want to bother with grinding honor pre-70 or even buy AH greens.

This is one of the main reasons alliance are willing to work together while horde often just run off by themselves. Alliance players smell better.

Is that what got the top Horde players (and their followers) to reroll Alliance? And here I thought it was post Hardiness nerf Shadowmeld.

I play almost exclusively on the Horde side and at first being one the wrong side of the map was very confusing. Mostly have got over it.

Adds variety, I like it,
