If you ever played a mage back then you know just what I’m talking about. For everyone else this video might help you understand.
I made this in TBC but same idea. Super long and boring video, I sucked at cutting down videos and making things interesting.
TLDW: blinked behind ZA gate before ZA was released.
OP, you might want to wind your video back by about a minute, until the point where they use Blink. I watched for 4 minutes after your timestamp not to see a single blink abuse moment.
hmm didn’t know it was gonna include the time -.-
How was it in vanilla? There’s your answer.
I use to blink outside deadmines all the time back in the day. Never knew it was old lands just some cool place
In the photos they released from the alpha client it shows them under Stormwind.
I know their was a way to do that by jumping on one of the lamps so it doesn’t really correlate to mage blinking
Was it broken in the demo? I ask because they did mention at the Blizzcon panel that wall jumping wouldn’t work due to the new client and the anti-cheat (or bounds checking or something) stuff. It’s possible the modern client won’t let it happen even if they don’t actually “fix” the spell itself.
I don’t even think anyone thought to check ground collision in the demo. That and blink is a lv. 20 spell demo was only up to 19
“Keep the bugs” is the most annoying ‘no changes’ stance to take.
I didn’t even check the level for blink. There will be a bunch of these things that were broken in vanilla that will be interesting to test in the Classic.
As long as they aren’t abused by the PVP lowlifes. Keep em, lots of fun to be had taking a look behind the 4th wall.
It was supposed to be Blizzard’s way of promising that we were getting vanilla in Classic and not just a content limited version of retail WoW.
I personally don’t trust Blizzard to make the right decisions. There are lots of bugs that were fixed or things that changed since vanilla that I’d love to have in Classic, but since Blizzard is in charge of that decision, I’d rather tell them “just give it to me as it was; no changes; bugs and all.” Else they “fix” something else that was actually just fine in vanilla and ruin what made it so appealing in the first place.
Broken? Sorry but blinking through objects is a feature of blink like jumping off a cliff and blink.
If they removed that feature then they would have to make it so a mage couldn’t blink through other players.
Well it won’t be blizzlike if they remove those features anyway.
You’re trying to make a ‘slippery slope’ argument to defend a bug that lets people glitch through the map.
They’ve already clearly stated somewhere that certain terrain exploits that were possible in the old client won’t be there anymore. That may apply to blink as well.
IE: in Vanilla, you could jump up walls and get into all sorts of places you weren’t intended to go that you simply won’t be able to in Classic with the new client. It will be somewhat disappointing since I remember doing a lot of jumping up the side of mountains or cliffs that you probably won’t be able to anymore.
This was so prevalent that in places like WSG you just had to know where the exploits were because flag carriers would often jump up onto the roof or the mill at the horde base etc. and you had to go get them. I think it’s for the best that those bugs/exploits will remain fixed in the new Classic client.
In places where it’s harmless, if they wanted to, they could re-introduce a way of getting into places like old Ironforge or whatever. I think that would be neat since you could get there in Vanilla and it doesn’t hurt anything.
Yep. A slippery slope that we’ve already slid down once before, which is why we want Classic in the first place.
