Blessing of winter

Based on what I’m reading, is this only useable on an allied healer? If that’s the case then it’s a dead talent outside of BGs and raids.

Edit: would make it impossible to cycle back to other seasons if that’s the case.

I had this thought too and assumed it was a typing error, but it’s on the official patch notes.

If we can only use Winter on other healers then that makes the entire talent useless in dungeons and solo play.

If we are the only healer we can’t use it to transition into Spring.

Hopefully this doesn’t go live, am i the only one who liked the current Winter and doesn’t want it to change?

Ya I like how it is currently. Decent damage and a nice mob debuff.

Friendly healers = yourself included.

Not to make light of the wording, but is there an instance where you could give it to unfriendly healers or players in the past? Otherwise the wording is entirely pointless unless to specify you can’t cast it on yourself.

Edit: Fair vvv

Innervate: Infuse a friendly healer with energy, allowing them to cast spells without spending mana for 10 sec.

So yeah friendly healer includes yourself.

It’s probably so you don’t accidentally cast it on a DPS that doesn’t need it, since except arcane mage, no DPS really uses mana. Wouldn’t you freak out if say a healer needs mana, and you accidentally cast it on a DPS or tank?

“Healer” is self explanatory. “Friendly” is the point of contention. It’s an unecessary inclusion unless to specify “other than the caster,” as buffs are exclusively for allies.

Assuming we can cast it on ourselves are we ok with this change to the spell?

I like the current Winter and want it to stay, it was fun in PvP.

I really don’t like this change.

Blessing of Winter worked with attack events, so it would be greatly more effective on classes that hit faster. So it has this cool mini-game in Dungeons, were you try to pick classes with lots of small attacks (like a Rogue, Fury Warrior or Frost Mage with Blizzard + Orb).

The new change makes it (yet another) dead season for Mythic Dungeons, since Holy Paladins barely need mana.

My suggestion is: Make the Blessing of Winter work differently if it is used on a DPS or a Healer.

The different buffs can even have different names like “Blessing of Winter (Wintertide)” for DPS or “Blessing of Winter (Borealis)” for Healers.

Obs.: My main for this season is Balinda-Gallywix (if that is needed to verify my M+ experience).

100% this. After using Divine Toll all last expac for it’s obvious strengths I was excited to try the Blessings with Divine Toll and they are super fun and the Blessing of Winter is the BEST. I love when I can throw it on my friends in an M+ and see all the added damage, even if it wasn’t massive. Now we get a watered down innervate that we don’t need and, like you said, is useless in anything other than raid. The suggestion to have it work differently on DPS or heals is great and I hope Blizz listens.

Yeah, I agree.

Since Winter is not the strongest blessing, at least the added versatility of different effects makes it more interesting.
