Would it make sense and better fit the paladin spellbook if Blessing of the seasons had their names and animations changed to something a little more classic and fitting to a paladin even if they keep the same function?
Summer — Might
Autumn — Alacrity / Kings / other
Winter — Wisdom
Spring — Light

Simple answer is yes. They had an opportunity when they were reskinning this ability to go a little further and make it an actual paladin ability.
Like you said, they could have changed the names to blessing of kings, might, etc. re used the old effects where for example the glowy helmet appeared about the players head for kings and that would have been awesome.
Instead they just skinned the effects as gold and didn’t even bother to rename them…
I’ve seen it suggested, and I agree that going back to the traditional blessing names would be way more thematic. I also think the ones you listed are the perfect equivalents (autumn doesn’t have a perfect equivalent obviously)
Here’s hoping they still revisit it some day
I think the reason why it didn’t get a new animation and/or name while other covenant abilities did, is because i don’t think it is going to survive into the next expansion. Lightsmith is going to take its place.

While I hope that’s true, I think all of the other hero trees that introduce a new active ability explicitly states what ability it replaces, if it does.
Blessing of Seasons was a complete dud of an ability in SL that no one took. I don’t even understand how it survived Shadowlands and made it into the DF talent trees to begin with.

I really really hope so. I thought the concept behind Seasons was great, but in practice I never enjoyed it even a little bit.
I was just coming over here to make a post about it. I had the same idea, but also a similar alternative to post. I’d go either:
Spring → Light
Winter → Wisdom
Autumn → Kings (alternate talent name)
Summer → Might (this would be the talent name as well)
Alternate theme - Blessing of the Lightbringer
Spring → Lightbringer (Uther the Lightbringer)
Autumn → Turalyon (duh)
Summer → Ashbringer (Tirion Fordring)
Winter → Dire (Gavinrad the Dire)
(yes i know Alexandros Mograine was originally The Ashbringer, but i picked founding silver hand paladins for the spell names.)
