I wouldnt say skillstorm is the only the reason why arms is so oppresive but its a big part of it on top of their healing tankyness utility mobility sustained damage…
Agreed 100%
The fact it’s so spammable too.
I was in an Ashran the other day and I think this one warrior hit me with like…4? Almost back to back to back?
Dunno how he did it, but it shredded me.
Have seen a lot of warriors running it. Maybe it’s not a default talent, but definitely useful.
For sure. I just hate that arms can charge in, hit one other global with CS, and instantly be doing a ton of damage on multiple targets. Put them on blades edge with a DH or DK and everything is melting. Super annoying.
There just needs to be more setup with how they do damage OR not make bladestorm so rewarding.
Yea, I think it’s time they bring that back. Or nerf the damage. Or take away the snare immunity. Something.
Oh yes Ive seen this lol. You’d think they would charge , op, op,thunderclap, sweeping strikes, skullsplitter, warbreaker , sharpen, mortal strike,avatar/skillstorm… but no they just charge warbreaker avatar and spin, once its done spin again and dbts in the middle of it just for good measure. If target is still alive dont matter just spend rage to get warbreaker back in 20 seconds and go again. Burst windows are very very forgiving because of the still insane cdr of anger management and storm of destruction. On my ret I pop crusade and have to sit through cyclone dr, fear dr, stun dr, and when I connect I get disarmed/coil/ rooted and my burst window was RUINED for 2mins until its back. Arms just goes and goes.
The issue with using 7 GCDs before you storm is that someone uses one root on you and your DPS immediately drops to zero.
Not saying that leading with storm is the peak gameplay that I’ve always desired. But it’s kind of a necessary evil into a lot of classes when you don’t have freedom, tiger’s lust, or mid ranged attacks to exert pressure. For better or worse, our anti-snare mechanic is also built into part of our major offensive kit.
Yea, it’s weird when I consider either my Enhance or SV’s opening rotation. While my ehance can change some, SV is pretty standard. So many globals…
Sting > Chakarms > Explosive > Fury > Flanking > Bomb > Bomb > Bomb then Right into Mongoose and KC spam. I could leave of Serpent Sting, but the rest is about the same each time.
For Enhance it’s even worse. Been slowly learning the Lavalash build. While you can ramp it up quickly, there is still a better and best option.
Wolves > Flame Shock > Lavalash > Stormstrike to build Maelstrom > Ice Strike > Ele Blast > Prim Wave > Lightning Bolt > Frost Shock
You could leave off Flame Shock and Lavalash if it’s ranged and you’re not focused on spreading Flame Shock. Could also forego stormstrike and Ele Blast and just go right into Prim > Ice Strike > LB > Frost Shock, but you’re leaving a lot on the table. Either way, it’s pretty global limited.
And there is no way to stop the bladestorm. The warrior is immune to every CC that I know of. You should at least be able to disarm them.
It really reeks trying to play a class with low mobility and not being able to do anything but sit there in the bladestorm only to get stunned or whatever else when the bladestorm is done.
The problem is they can use it almost anytime they want with little reprecussion. If disarm worked against it, the warrior would have to think when to use the bladestorm properly. Kind of like a druid using his big cooldowns. He can get CC’d nonstop during that 3 minute recast cooldown. Makes zero sense how a warrior can be completely CC immune in bladestorm and use it anytime he pleases. I’m not saying all CC should stop it. Just a good old disarm.
