Blademaster Spec?

Would it be suitable for the Warrior class to have a Blademaster spec? 2H wielding but emphasize on finesse and cunning instead of brute force?

I'm not talking about a major revamp like Combat -> Outlaw or Melee Survival per se, it could be more like talents, such as Defensive Stance and Feral Affinity.

1) Defensive Stance: "A defensive combat state that reduces all damage you take by 20%, and all damage you deal by 10%. Lasts 0 sec."

So a Blademaster Stance might be: "A agile combat state that increases haste and crit by 10%, movement speed by 15%, but increases all damage taken by 20%. Your charge now blinks you behind your target." Somewhere along that line.

2) Feral Affinity: You gain Feline Swiftness. Increases your movement speed by 15%. You also learn Rake, Rip, Swipe. Your energy regeneration is increased by 45%.

So a Blademaster Affinity might be: Increases your haste and crit by 10%, movement speed by 15%. You also learn Windwalk, Mirror Image, and Shadow Step. All damage you take is increased by 20%.

While Blademaster walks between both Warrior and Rogue ideologies it's closer to being a warrior. Besides, I doubt Rogue would trade their Subtlety spec for a Blademaster spec. (Maybe?)

It would be great to play as a blademaster if there were a talent spec like Defensive vs Blaemaster stance on the same tier.
WC3 and HOTS BM are fun to play, and would also be fun in WoW.

They already gave warrior Bladestorm, might as well give us Windwalking and Shadow Step in exchange for charge and leap in that BM stance.
Don't know what we would exchange Mirror Image with, sweeping strike? Striking multiple enemies create additional clones, up to 4x max.
They tried that in legion with fury and the extra damage made all the unaware noobs complain about it because they didn't understand that having extra hp made up for the extra damage taken.

Sounds like a really good Idea I approve

sounds like arms. Arms really shouldn't use rage as a resource. Maybe focus?

They're extremely unlikely to offer another talent that vastly changes gameplay like they have in the past. All of those design models have been nuked (and Glad stance would be foaming at the mouth on top of that).

Also, I'm a bit amused at the idea of the blademaster being about finesse, but also takes extra damage? Taking extra damage sounds like a berserker kind of thing. I also don't think it's good design to make a spec take extra damage by design, because then it's just a crutch for the spec unless you counter it like Zorop mentioned. At that point there's not really a strong mechanical reason to design it like that.

I'd rather have a brawler spec where we just beat the !@#$ out of things with our bare hands.

Not like windwalker where we bust out a bunch of cheesey "Rising Sun Kick" or "Dragon punch" karate %^-* but more like we just drank a fifth of jack daniels in a hole-in-the-wall bar and some dude looked at us funny from across the bar.

That'd be way better.

I'd like this, Arms represents a colossal figure that goes around delivering heavy strikes. Blademaster could be the opposite of that but deliver deadly strikes of their own.

Yeah, 99% of the stuff posted here reminds me of my son when he was 6-7 ... this on the other hand is prob what the fury rework back in the day should have been. Fits inside the game universe and has a cool factor that would have a fan base beyond FotM.

I’d like to see Arms receive a talent update, something like this.

15 - No changes
30 - [Replaces Impending Victory] Windwalker (Charge now removes snares, renders you invisible for the duration of the charge, and guarantees a crit upon hitting your target)
45 - [Replaces Rend] Master of the Sword - Vastly increased auto-attack speed (reduced rage generation from each strike)
60 - [Replaces Second Wind] Battlemaster’s Stance (Increased crit %, increased damage taken)
75 - [Replaces Collateral Damage] Mirror Image (Summons 3 copies of you with 1/4th your health, DK Skeleton-style minion AI)
90 - No changes
100 - [Replaces Ravager] - Blaze of Glory (Bladestorm now deals fire damage and slowly pulls targets towards the warrior)

Haven’t the faintest idea if it’s balanced or not, but it certainly sounds more engaging than what we’ve got.

If they implement this idea than no one will play Fury or Arms haha
A Mirror Image ability would be cool and unique. Something this class requires.

Two questions
1 - Why is that?
2 - Wait, how would it affect Fury?

Maybe increase the rage generated from damage taken. Turn the spec into a glass cannon.

Sounds super well balanced for PvE

i love this idea. Blademaster was always my favorite lore class.

How about this also,

Passive : Swiftness
Leather armor is now your armor type and increased dodge or every agility point increases dodge chance.

I suck with balanced skills but you get the idea!

MY DEMONIC BLADE! I knew a blademaster once, he was very swift and silent. I think warriors might not be swift and silent enough. Also he did not protect his chest with mighty armor. Warriors protect all parts of their bodies in battle for they know their armor is just part of them. Blademasters would not make good warriors.

If they were to try this I would say they should do it in place of arms. Unless they can unhinge arms from bleed based damage they might as well get rid of it.

Blademasters are basically just Arms Warriors in cloth armor with a couple Mage abilities. I doubt it’ll ever become a class since they already gave their defining abilities to existing classes.

Arms is a blade master. Or supposed to be. It’s bee changed too much now to call it that now

Nothing personnel, kid…
