The graphic style more than just overall graphics; personally my only gripe is the heavy artifacts around textures and just them squeezing in effects they really should just realize they can’t have while they try to support the PS4.
Animations and models are good, same for particle effects but their lighting and shadows are pretty poor along things like poor resolution displacement maps and more (I could go on).
I definitely agree though, out of all of the competitors FFXIV is the only MMO that I would say is complete enough to truly give a run for your subscription; the only downside is that the MSQ can be a real slog for new players and my reasoning for recommending ESO is you literally can just jump in and play and not spend a huge amount of time having to slog through quests.
I want a video game that is like the Berserk Anime… just a lone hero wandering around a gothik/medieval realm that increasingly adds more and more fantasy elements till he is slaying behemoth giants demons and all manner of spiritual evils.
Hopefully thats what diablo 4 is.
Diablo 4 isn’t that. It’s a PVP multiplayer style game similar to D3 with the zones and open world, with added world bosses, ect.
You sure? I thought it would be multiplayer like POE or dark souls… poe except world bosses are communal as well as towns and party invite to group outside… and dark souls being very rarely would you encounter other people organically out in the open world (or by ceremony or some kind for pvp).
I don’t like PVP in ARPGs so hopefully I can completely opt out of that gameplay… I barely tolerate PVP in wow.
My only issue I’ve been having with ff14 is the main quest, I feel like more of an errand boy more than someone on an adventure.
FFXIV’s ARR MSQ (First chunk of story before any expansions) is the most painful, boring, and drawn out questline I’ve ever had the displeasure of completing.
I doubt they will try to differ much from the Diablo style worlds, imagine Diablo 3 except servers for anyone to join and PVP turned on.
I didn’t help that I somehow managed to outlevel the main story quest so now I’ve been having to play catch up.
It’s hard not to. I remember getting my level lowered for MSQ instances at the very first dungeon.
yeah I think when I got to the first dungeon I was like level 20-22
B&S has s*** questing, it’s even worse than wow. The combat is alright. If you like PvE then FF14.
