Skill ups involve Spark of Ingenuity (1-2) per item. Not happening.
Recipes from Raid. (Not available at the moment)
Recipe for Master’s Hammer - “Various specialization, upon learning to use Master’s Hammer” – Description way too vague
Read that carefully.
Looks like you got people turning in BS level work and picking up a paycheck at the end of the week.

I reported a bug that most of the items that say “Increase Blacksmith Knowledge by X points” are not working. I tried two different ones and my knowledge bar didn’t move after consuming the items.
The more bug reports on the same topic, the more likely they are to fix it sooner than later.

my lw is 65 as well - if I get orders I can level with blue profession equipment
the orders seem to be the ‘smoothest’ way to go. this should create interesting dynamics.
Engineering is the same. Can’t get the items to increase skill, and very few things were discovered in the recipe list. Those things that were discovered rely on a weekly reset to create.
The orders only work if you have the recipes. I have 65 skill level in Engineering, and the only things that are posted for work orders are things I can’t make. Either the system doesn’t allow the levels I can make, or everyone’s asking for the higher level items. The only way I was able to get the measly 2 profession knowledge from completing the 5 orders was to order them from an alt. Luckily, I leveled another character to 70 and was able to access the order system. Otherwise, I’d still have missed out.
I think they need to add the lower level items to the system to make it easier for crafters. I’ve already maxed out Mining on one character and still get knowledge from random nodes, but crafting is stuck. The only things I could make as an engineer that others want are profession equipment (which I can only make the greens so the work orders don’t even work with those), a gun that everyone has, or epic bracers that no one is asking for.
I love the idea of the system we have for professions now, but I think it still needs tweaks to make it less reliant on other people to level.

You seem to be relying based on assumption and no actual experience at all.
i’m 55 in blacksmithing. It’s a new expansion afterall.

Crafting orders and lfw spam is the only way right now .
Shield and weaponsmith will help a ton for BS
Knowledge points are not skill points, so using the “Increase Blacksmith Knowledge by X points” will not make your bar move at all…as that’s your skill point bar. Check your specialization tab down at the bottom and your knowledge points will be tracked over on the top right side.

I leveled from 65 → 100 making the Master Hammers if you have the need to level them up right now. It will cost you in gold however as they use the Alloys which use a ton of mats
It’s dual track now… Knowledge and Skill. Skill points are originally for crafting. Knowledge points are for the new specializations.
Very poorly thought out and poorly implemented system.

I think the intention was to create a system that showcased REAL dedication to a craft.
In other words, no one should be much higher than 50-60 after just TEN DAYS.
I’m not saying I agree with how everything is going with professions. Because WoW has always had this ridiculous divide between the “easy” professions (LW) and the hard ones (BS/Eng). And that still persists.
But if the plan is that you shouldn’t be totally maxed for 10-12 weeks… then this system is working as intended.
I mean, you can’t complain about patterns that are locked behind the raid. You don’t have them… but no one has them.
see you have a point but the issue is for me as a LW the only real way to level up at this point is to craft gear that costs sparks. and i can say as someone who can craft a 405ilvl chest 100% no one wants this stuff if it isnt a weapon or neck.
so im just here chilling without anyway to really level up my profession unless someone orders this chest and i have been spamming chat and nothing. this will not change int he future.

It doesn’t say exactly where to get the recipe (very vague). In fact, if you read the description, it says you get Master’s Hammer when you get Master’s Hammer (rather retarded description).
It’s somewhere in the specialization, but Knowledge points don’t grow on trees or in bunches. It’s stuck for weeks until someone can find where it’s hidden… because someone didn’t bother typing 30 points in something or other specific detail.
But that’s what is misleading with the new system.
For 18 years, we had to craft so much JUNK just to get to max level… where the 3-4 really good patterns finally were. It was basically just a race to max.
That’s not true under the new system.
Your crafting more or less maxes out at just 50. You’ve learned everything your trainer is gonna teach you … at just 50.
And everyone complaining in this thread … is higher than that. So…
The other “really good” recipes are locked behind Renown. And some others in the raid.
But it’s not a CRAFTING issue.
This is a new system. You have to change how you think about it. Everything for the last 18 years just, overnight, doesn’t apply anymore.

My LW is 80 and I havent used a single spark or done a crafting order…
Craft fang adornments
Im stuck at 63 LW. Its really rough. I also chose the wrong spec so it feels like I will never be able to learn leather armour crafting which requires 75 skill…
yeah I didn’t take that specialization
I have 2 lw and my hunter was going to do that and mail - not very well designed that some specializations have skills up that enable them to have all specializations and others are stuck. In any case, it is no big deal for me since I will level up via dmf and these are mostly for my alts.
You get it after getting 30 skill in any of the specific specializations Short Blade, Long Blades, Mace & Hammer, (Axes, Picks and Polearms), Breastplate, Shields, Greaves, Helms, Pauldrons, Sabatons, Belts, Vambraces or Guantles.
In fact, all of them have the description
“LEARN HOW TO CRAFT AND USE the Master’s Hammer”
It is not a Drop
It is not from a Vendor
Its not a plan you learn
I cannot get anymore specific then that outside of a screenshot of them
There’s going to be demand really soon for the infurious 5% cc reduc lw craft when season starts
