I’ve been looking around on Google, but nothing really seems to answer this question fully. My Demon Hunter is my blacksmith, and right now, I’m sitting on quite a bit of knowledge that I haven’t spent yet. The only thing(s) I’ve learned through the weaponsmithing tree are the longsword and warglaive. Before I spend any more points or unlock any other trees, I want to know if it’s possible for some reagent or skill to make any of the epics I can make BoE or BoA. If I can’t, there’s not much point in learning any of the armorsmithing tree or really anything else in weaponsmithing either.
It would kind of suck if the only things I could do for my other toons is just make some leveling weapons/armor for a few classes, as well as some profession tools, but right now, that’s how it looks like blacksmithing works. Am I wrong?
iirc, if you want to craft BoP items/equipment for any of your alts, you would have to have them make a personal crafting order to your blacksmith character.
Nope. If a recipe says that a item you craft is BOP then it is BOP for ever.
The only way to make BOP items for other players is through the crafting orders.
If you are doing long swords/glaives, then what you want to do is fill out:
Weaponsmithing - Weaponsmithing
Weaponsmithing - Blades
Weaponsmithing - Long Blades
Hammer Control - Hammer Control
That’ll max your skill points for making long blades and glaives as far as knowledge points go.
After that you can decide if you want to specialize in making fully levelled alloys (the mats for your weapons, Specialty Smithing tree), increasing inspiration/resourcefulness when crafting them (part of the Hammer Control tree), or starting a new specialization.
I went full long swords. I’m working on shields next. After that I’ll probably work on alloys.
