So I levelled my blacksmithing the same way I always do. First I get my weapon crafting in order, then I move on to profession items. I knew I wouldn’t be able to craft my 2h for a while, so I wasnt too worried about it. Now that we will actually be able to get 4 sparks, I started looking into why I didnt have a pattern for a 2h strength weapon.
Turns out that despite the tree I picked (axes and polearms) having two types of weapons you can make, I cant make either. For some reason BOTH the patterns drop in the Voidspire?! Not only that, but they arent even special.
So now I have seemingly wasted 25 blacksmithing points on a tree that doesnt even teach you how to make anything worthwhile. Amazing. At least one of these two patterns needs to be moved from a drop to the tree or else this is going to be a huge block to lots of people.
While I do agree that both 2H weapons for the node should not be raid drops, there are other options.
The 2H Mace and Sword plans cost 150 Blacksmith Moxie each from Lyrendal in Silvermoon.
If you only craft for yourself, then yes, those 25 points may not get much use until you are able to acquire the recipes for the 2H weapons.
And that vendor is where I expected at least one of these patterns to be. The whole point is making myself a weapon to take into the raid. Right now I cant do that, and its the only 2h spec that is like this.
So, which point route did you go?
