I feel like I can’t buy/make any crafted plate gear on my Warrior, but all my other characters can get it super cheap.
On my server, at least - plate is in a terrible place compared to other armor types. I can use all rank 3 materials on any other armor type/piece and it averages out to 5k-15k per piece.
Cloth bracers, for example - take 10 bolts, 2 shards and a vendor item.
The Everforged Vambraces bracers made by BS (the cheapest item) cost 62k at rank 3 materials, 25k at rank 1. It costs cost 4 epic ingots and 12 rare. Those ingots each require 2 extremely rare items at 5-7k/ea. What?
Am I missing something or is it just not going to be worth it to get plate crafted gear until they increase the drop chances of something or change the recipes?
Things get pricey when you start using Tier 3 materials. You generally want to avoid it if you can use concentration instead.
Having said that I rarely complete all the BS Patron Orders because a lot of them would cost me 30-40K in materials.
BS gear wouldn’t be so bad if Profaned Tinderboxes didn’t go for 7-10k each, but there’s the issue of supply and demand. There are only about 4500 of them available on NA servers total according to the Oribos Exchange. These are also needed by enchanting for multiple weapon enchants and radiant ring enchants, which helps fuel demand and keeps prices up.
Even using rank one materials will be pricey until there’s a more steady supply of tinderboxes.
Blacksmithing has always been more expensive historically. Why should it change now?
go hit up the nightfall sanctum delve. I ran in on lvl 1 yesterday for a couple of hours and let bran mine all the fishing/ herb/ mining nodes and i was getting between 1-3 tinderboxes a run. each run is like 5-10 min.
