Blackrock Depths

Okay seriously its about time this is addressed. Blackrock Depths has over Boss 20 encounters. Upon queuing for and random dungeon and being placed in Blackrock Depths your group is assigned to a certain wing of the dungeon. Some had 2 bosses and take 5 minutes using the Mole Machine at the front. Some have 3-5 and take longer. Can groups that are assigned wings that have 2 specific bosses that are nestled far within the dungeon get placed closer to these bosses? Nearly everytime I have a character placed in one of these the leader and the tank pay no attention to which wing we are queued for and randomly charge headfirst in the absolute wrong direction. Like okay great people want to do quests and see the dungeon I get that, but what is the point of placing a group in requiring them to only kill 2 bosses to finish but have every boss and encounter available? Other dungeons do this as well but its nowhere near as frustrating as it is for BRD. LFR has maps which physically prevent the group for going on to other bosses and other areas, why cant massive classic LFG dungeons as well? I get it, the dungeons are massive, it would take a certain amount of actual man-hours to update the game to have this but I mean it is really desperately needed. Its not just frustration of following a group of random people killing random mobs and bosses that aren’t needed but the fact that people don’t listen if you try to explain. I don’t want to wait 20 minutes for queue to join a group, be ignored by people who don’t understand how the sectioned wings work and then be kicked and have to wait longer to re-queue again and HOPE that the exact same thing doesn’t happen. I’m not expecting anyone to agree with me or answer how exactly it should or could be done. All I am saying is its been done already for other dungeons and other encounters, so why not do it with the largest dungeon in existence and save countless players a lot of time and hassle.

You are in the level range of BRD for how long while leveling? Be happy its not the WHOLE dungeon.

Thing is it is either detention block (which ends at the anvil if not before) or upper city which starts just beyond the pub. There really is nothing for the middle bosses and people tend to just beeline to the boss that will get them completion credit if using the queue.

They either need a 3rd part (call it officers quarters) for the general, manufacturey and pub or extend one of the other 2 to include those bosses.

They need to just do away with wings and make you cowards complete the entire dungeon like men.

Honestly, BRD wings should be the lower levels and the upper levels, where the upper levels are the areas that required the shadowforge key.

The lower wing should end with the molten giant on the highway. Get rid of the mole machine. Make it so that if you get the detention block (lower wing), you can’t open the doors that once required the shadowforge key. That way you have to go through the ring of law, past the vault, through the mining area, to the anvil and then go through the highway.

The upper level starts where the General boss is and finishes at the emperor.

Issue: the giant can be beelined to from the start, as the way BRD is designed, it is a big circle for the lower parts as long as the gates are open (the design was so that the closed gate makes a complete path to the upper city) and not all paths were blocked by a locked gate and sometimes. No, what they need to do for lower BRD is akin to what they did for Freehold, make it so you actually have to complete all objectives to get credit and among them have the molten giant boss, the ring, etc.

I guess you ignored this part

Those gates that could get you to the molten boy from the start required the shadowforge key. Aka, they will be locked regardless. (also make it so that lock picking and skeleton keys can’t open it). Also means that you can’t access the upper city if you got the lower part.

I agree with this though, however don’t make it ALL objectives. Only the main ones (you can “complete” the dungeon without doing all the bonus objectives, because they are a bonus, they are optional).

Nope, there was only 1 blocking the way to him and that could be circumvented, and that one was just a standard prison gate unless my memory is faulty, you can check the map in game for what it looks like without the gates. Also, the MAIN gate is open for the lower part.

Even if they required the key, there a would be those that would find a way, maybe after doing the ring of law unless that door also took the key.

If you don’t use the door to skip right to the molten boy at the end of the highway, you HAD to go through the ring of law, past the vault, through the mining place and across the black anvil.

Any skips involving doors required the shadowforge key. This also included turning the lock to gain access to the upper section (General onwards)

The first big circular room had a way to the part of the highway with the giant without any doors or gates. Again, look at the map of the dungeon and then, if you wish, see where the gates are.

The way you are stating is the common way it was done, but lower BRD was the first non-linear dungeon in the game

That said:

Is likely the better way to go, even if it means the molten giant becomes a bonus (but then, who does him if they don’t have the quest for him?)

You mean these gates? h ttps://i.imgur.com/AzkQ8zw.jpg

The way to the molten boi from the start and the first inner circle area are both closed off via gates that used to require the shadowforge key. The only way to get to the molten boy back in the day without the shadowforge key was to go through the ring of law etc.

Yeah, thought one was removed or something, like I said, memory could be faulty. So your idea would work.

How about you make your own group for that. A dungeon shouldn’t take five minutes, nor should it consist of two conveniently placed bosses. That’s just ridiculous. If you don’t enjoy dungeons, don’t do them. If you don’t enjoy BRD, que specific.
