I wish I hadn’t dropped the Black Rock Depths quest, to do Black Temple, only to find out I can’t re-acquire BRD quest. You not only lose out on the crests, but Valorstones, and Timewarped badges from BRD!
FWIW, I picked up both quests earlier (BRD first, then BT) seem to still have both although I haven’t done anything about either yet. It’ll be interesting to see if completing one interferes with the other. (I’m doing BT first because of the better chest and because I just got both Warglaives of Azzinoth on an alt and I want to unlock the transmog. If I wind up jeopardizing either turn-in by doing one before the other, I’d rather it be the BRD one.)
I could not re-acquire the BRD quest, so you miss out on the Crests, Valorstones and Timewarped badges that BRD quest had. Black Temple only gave Timewarped badges. and a 610 chest. I get it the BRD chest is a lower ilevel. Maybe we shouldn’t have been able to do both in the past and this isn’t a bug, but a fix? LOL
Sooooo, GOOD NEWS FOR ALL: I dropped BRD from Dornagal. Acquired BT in Shatt. Went to Tannaris and the BRD quest is there! Go figure!
So I put in a ticket about this issue and to sum it up it best this is what they said:
“We have received several reports regarding the issue, and I want to assure you tha tour developers are investigating the situation. Unfortunately, at this time, Customer Support does not have a direct workaround or resolution to offer, and we are unable to manually grant the quest”
A couple of notes:
- My ticket was about finishing the BRD Disturbance quest first and not being able to pick up the BT Disturbance
- If you pick up BT Disturbance first you can then go pick up BRD Disturbance and do them both or if you still have BRD Disturbance in your quest log you need to abandon the quest then go grab BT first.
- There are people on the forums and in-game claiming that the way the quests are working is intended to work this way and even going as far as saying Blizzard themselves have stated as such, this is complete untrue and nonsense. As per my ticket response the devs are aware and are working to fix it.
That’s absurd lol. No way it would be intentional to work this way. ESPECIALLY since if you do BT timewalking quest FIRST, BRD is still available to do after. But not vice versa. Anyone saying it’s intended is 100% wrong.
Exactly but that kinda information spreads and sadly people will believe it or purposely spread it as false to troll others so I felt I needed to reinforce that its not true at all
Also, my 5 TimeWalking Dungeon quest is bugged, keeps resetting back to 0/5, given that I’d done 4/5 lol
That’s the first I’m hearing of that BUT the TBC Weekly can be done with dungeons or just 5 bosses in Black Temple and I did mine in BT so I can’t say about doing them through dungeons, perhaps for a workaround just get into a fresh BT and only do up to Illidan but stop there (Unless of course your BT Disturbance quest is working then by all means kill him)
Replying to say I also am having this issue. Unfortunately I completed the BRD quest already, so I have nothing to ‘abandon’ to fix it. So I guess I just wait and hope they fix it before the event ends. '
I was able to see and receive the weekly raid quest in Shattrath as of 2 minutes ago, so it seems fixed.
I too completed the BRD raid quest before and could not see the hero gear quest until now.

Can confirm, I just went to Shattrath and now I can get the BT Disturbance quest now too
I also had already completed BRD Disturbance first and was locked out of the quest

same happened to me. i had to warn my guildies since they are new. not a great look on blizzards part for new players 
It seems to have been hotfixed so tell anyone who was locked out to go and see if it quest is up for them

WAIT REALLY. im gonna check now on my main that was locked out. i was so upset too.
Yeah myself and another guy on here both just got the quest after we both were previously locked out of it

I can confirm that this has been fixed! Thank you Blizz devs! I was not seeing the “Disturbance Detected: Black Temple” before but now I do and I was able to accept the quest now.

Go to the Anniversary Celebration outside of The Caverns of Time… you can reacquire the quest there!
