Hi there,
If you’ve been having issues with black screening in classic wow, and no other games, this thread is for you.
I have narrowed it down to W10 notifications and or popups that come through. I have a G710+ Keyboard and when I change the volume with my keyboard, I get a mini-overlay display of the volume controls, and as soon as it fades away and the game comes back into focus, the game black screens for 3-4 seconds and then returns.
It has something to do with the games coding versus current hardware, it has nothing to do with previous posts.
To alleviate this from happening as much as possible, I’ve disabled all windows 10 notifications from popping through, and try to change volume options via the game itself as opposed to in windows.
I cannot say that it is entirely on Blizzard’s end though, because my wife and I have identical hardware configurations (1700x, 2x GTX1080 in SLI, 32 GB ram, same keyboards) and I cannot replicate the problem on her computer, so something to do with my windows settings is the actual cause. For the record, I do not have any other programs running like discord, or anything else that uses any form of overlays, so it is NOT related to the discord overlay explanation.
It is ONLY WoW Classic specifically that this happens to. Every other game I have never seen this problem, and that’s a LOT of games that I play.
If anybody has any other ideas towards how to narrow this down further, please please please, message me. Let’s knock this one out.
