I have recently gotten a bit more serious in the game at collecting mounts the last couple of months after years of casual farming on and off. Next goal is to try and finish farming gold for the Brutosaur before its gone. I had heard a total rumor that it might be added to the BMAH after its removed (no idea at all if thats true) and that got me thinking. A good number of mounts can pop up on there including big achievement ones that have been removed from the game otherwise but there are a great many that have not been added. What mounts, if not all of them, that can no longer be obtained in the game do you think should be added to the BMAH or to some other system.
A few for me are:
- Grove Warden: my most longed for mount in the entire game (I didnt get into a group for it in WoD and also didnt realize it was being removed until after Legion launched)
- Black Proto-Drake
- Emerald Hippogryph
While writing this I thought about how much more systems like Timewalking and level/power scaling have been incorporated into the game and it also made me wonder if that could somehow be used to re-introduce the challenging content that originally saw these mounts into Azeroth. So extra question: What systems do you think could make the challenging aspect of obtaining these mounts relevant again?

Personally, I think the black market should contain every mount, pet, toy, gear, or recipe that has ever been in the game and later removed, even if it was a limited time offer (like the Primal Flamesaber).
This would be especially nice for the Cataclysm changes that removed so many things.

I personally don’t like the idea of reintroducing AOTC mounts and the like specifically because they were always time-sensitive achievements.
Literally everything else that wasn’t time-sensitive but just removed? To the BMAH!

I totally understand your point! To me though there are already mounts on the BMAH that were time sensitive so for it to be limited seems silly. Plus its a game so if youre willing to drop gold on something like that cause it makes you happy more power to you imho. It wouldn’t give buyers the ach or anything either

As far as I’m concerned since they are putting the AH mount in there and they brought the 10 year anniversary mount into the BMAH they should all be in there now.

There is no point in having anything you desire in the BMAH if you aren’t capable of gold capping. Because that is what is often required to even have a break at some items. The economy is so broken on most servers, the BMAH is meaningless except for the ultra rich.
I rather the BMAH just had crates much like the new IE crates, at set prices. And you can buy them, I dunno… say 3 crates a month, for a chance at a very specific loot table of rare gone items. That would be more fair to all, rather than once again catering to the ultra rich.
PS. I kind of am one of the wealthy, on my servers. It has nothing to do with me hating on goblins, just being objective about it.

Panda CM sets would be a very nice addition to the BMAH along with a lot of missing things they have taken out, EG stuff Cata removed.
Also Trial of style could help add in all the missing parts to tier sets EG boots, so many missing boots for sets on many classes 
Belts ar another missing item.

These systems are incapable of producing a challenge that is similar to the original content due to how classes, abilities, mechanics have changed over time as well as the issue of the power-creep that has happened. Simply put, the challenge that existed when said mounts were available just cannot be recreated.
What makes a mount valuable is its rarity. You only listed those mounts because you’re unable to obtain them. Would you still long for said mounts if you could obtain them? Most people will say yes but often once obtain, they’re used for a while then forgotten when the next latest and greatest mount comes along.

I would like the old TCG and promo mounts available somehow. Or a black auction vendor (something that can change daiily or every couple days) that you don’t have to compete with others that have stable schedules/ have to compete with players that play from work/ don’t have a job.

Thats a great idea! I hadnt thought about CM sets with them being so long gone! Haha i did think during Trial of Style this week that they should expand on the gear you can purchase though!

I completely agree, its not going to be exactly the same, the game is constantly evolving but i think its a bit too simple to say the challenge is gone forever. I played in Wrath and those dungeons got to be very easy when everyone learned the pathing and mechanics but there were still some difficult to manage aspects even then. This weeks Timewalking proved to me that nothing difficult is forever lost with time in the world of warcraft.
As for rarity. I still consider mounts that are on the BMAH rare. I still think I’ve maybe seen a couple Plagued PD and I play on Dalaran. The Grove Warden isnt something i would call rare, just an unfortunate loss on my part. As long as there is some level of difficulty in obtaining the mounts i dont see it ruining anyone’s achievement of obtaining them
i’d have it 100% drop rate in all those 3 crates meaning 3 guaranteed mounts.
like… the fact that EXACTLY at the 10th anniversary moment I wasn’t able to be on the computer, is no good enough reason to just remove it completely from the game. heck, I’d even be happy for everyone to get their hands on the rarest mounts ever in wow history. And you’d be happy if it was my way.
I didn’t know the primal flamesaber was removed. Glad I got it inventory.
