Can something actually be done about 5+ 10 boxers camping lotus?
Completely random spawns? More Spawns? Remove them all together and give them a mechanic like Arcane Crystals with high level herbs?
Maybe I’m in the minority but - even though I know Flasks are not NEEDED it would be nice if your average Joe on high pop servers had a larger chance to snag em every now and again.

No, Blizzard will not modify a 2004 game because YOU want different rules. If you don’t like these rules, why do you CHOOSE to play a 2004 game with these rules?
Blizzard has never offered custom games, or said “you decide the rules”.

Anyways OP yeah I agree with you. There are some QoL changes I’d be all for, like more dynamic spawns of herbs especially black lotus and fixing the whole premade situation. I used to be a straight no changes kind of lad but somethings do need some hot fixes.
But Blizzard already modified their 2004 game. A lot of servers have far, far more players on them than Vanilla servers ever did, but the number of world spawn resources is exactly the same. Black Lotus is, relatively speaking, more rare than it was in 2004. Blizzard even acknowledges this, so I don’t think it’s unreasonable to ask about potential solutions to the problem.
The 2004 game and resources were not meant for servers with 10,000 players. Nor were they meant for layering and many other changes they’ve made. Resources and economy overall are a legitimate concern at the moment.
make lotus drop from regular high end herbs, perhaps only in the lotus zones, similar to rich thorium veins yielding arcane crystals. that’s what they ended up doing in BC anyways

OP you are not in the minority; people like this guy are. I sincerely hope Blizzard allows Lotus to spawn on high-level herb nodes like in BC. In BC they had a 4-6% chance to drop, but I’d honestly settle for a 1% chance in Classic.
I wonder if people seem to forget that you would need a beast PC just to dual box in 2006, let alone run 10+ accounts at once on the same computer, even if they are just idle, you still have the ram requirement.
It’s one of the reasons I’m against multiboxing in vanilla. You would never see 10+ multibox mages one shotting players in WPVP simpley because the technology didn’t exist to run that many instances of the game at once.
10 boxer could still do this with 3000 per server.

That solution is alright. But it’s still problematic. Those zones are all ready over farmed for herbs and they’d be farmed even harder if you changed it to random chance. Instead of people camping lotus spawns, you’d see people camping single herb spawns. It would still be a problem at the end of the day. That change +layers are really the only reasonable solution.
Qol changes ruins games.
There are hundreds and hundreds of high level herb nodes in the game, including some in instances that are safe from the over-farming in the world. And with lots more Lotus in the game under that change, prices will drop to reasonable levels making other farming methods more lucrative, meaning less camping of nodes.
It would be fine, and even if it ended up not being fine there would still be instance farming.
Yes, this is frustrating where single player takes over entire zone.
A human can’t compete with some guy fully automating all lotus gathering. And it prevents everyone from getting limited resource when one bad apple uses 10 bot setup to get them all.
Come in blizzard. I’ve been reporting them, they are still there.
This went from MMO to Bot-mmo. That’s messed up.
I’d love to get a black lotus or two just because they bring some gold on AH. I haven’t seen a single one after months of being maxed in herbing. Same people on AH all the time listing them.
If you needed that flask so badly, get your entire guild to shut down the zone.
They modified AV, they changed lotus spawn timer… yeah they did change rules.
This game wasn’t for bots, it was for players. I shouldn’t need 40 people trying to manually compete with 1 botter.
All i hear is. “I’m not going to put in as much work as this one guy can do to compete with him give me free lotus. So i can get better parse without doing the work.”
However, this thread will be the one that makes a difference.
