So the timer has been reduced to 2:15 seconds as I’ve read on the classic wow head site, does zone population effect this at all?
More people in the zone has a higher chance of a lower spawn timer?
Or reduces the spawn timer to a max spawn time?
Any info on this at all? Cheers
I believe it is a possible 2 spawns per zone increased from 1 spawn per zone. The respawn timer seems to be on average 15min. Some players claiming longer, some shorter but 15min seems to be the average.
I haven’t seen anything about dynamic spawning based on zone population.
edit: This guy has a series on youtube doing all the zones mapping out the spawns.
I thought the 2 per zone was a myth? depends on population?
That might be true. The closest I’ve gotten two black lotus was ~12min in Winterspring picking up one down south then another one up north in the owlkin area.
I assumed that the more closer timers were a result of multiple lotus being up at the same time but perhaps it’s just a random short timer.
It’s almost certainly longer than 15 minutes. IF it were 15 minutes prices would be much cheaper than they currently are for BL. It’s probably more like 20-30 mins. I’ve only found one black lotus since the change and I’ve spent well over 10 hours farming.

On Grobbulus with a ton of other people farming I can consistently pull at least 1-2 black lotus an hour out of Burning Steppes.
People are still hoarding, people are still buying up massive quantities of lotus to keep it semi-rare. I can put up 10 lotus at market price on AH and maybe sell 3-4 of them. I can spam trade selling 10 lotus at 20% below AH value and i’ll have a flood of whispers to buy them.
You can use long term AH data from addons like TSM or websites like bootybaygazette to see that the overall volume of black lotus hasn’t changed since December and either has the available flask volume implying that there is a signficant amount of lotus in peoples banks.
The volume of lotus hovers around 20-30 a day. The volume of flasks hovers around 20-30 a day combined (Power/Titans/Wisdom). That leaves, assuming most lotus are picked within a few min of spawn, between 36-60 Black lotus unaccounted for on the old timer system not even on the new timer system.
15-30min seems consistent with my experience but I’ve also gathered two within 12min so I’m not positive on anything except they do seem to be more available for farming but not more available in the market at this time.
I confirm I got two black lotuses in Burning Steppes 15 minutes apart. The price is high because guilds and rich people are hoarding them. The change just caused, that you will randomly encounter one more often than before, because the eagle eye hunters have more spots to look at.
There is speculation that the old nodes remained unchanged and are still on the 45-75 minute timer while the new nodes are on a 15-25 minute timer. This would explain the reports of sub 15 minute re-spawns, it also provides for the possibility of two lotus up at the same time.

I’ve picked a 15min spawn right after I picked one. But it seems like the average re-spawn is closer to 35mins-45 mins.
Anecdotally I’ve picked way more lotus from new nodes than the old ones.
From my experience the new window is 0-30 minutes. So as soon as the Lotus is picked, the next one could spawn instantly, or it could take up to 30 minutes.
