Dear Blizzard Team,
We need your help with Black Lotus! Could you consider implementing the same system as Season of Discovery, where Black Lotus has a chance to drop from high-level herbs?
This adjustment would greatly help the community by making flasks more accessible and preventing the need to spend 200g each week just to stay competitive.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
Best regards,

anniversary does not need SoD changes
and you don’t need flasks to clear raids.

You don’t play anniversary, mind your business dummy.

is anniversary too hard for you
you shouldn’t need SoD changes
- Economic Balance – The current Black Lotus scarcity makes flask prices excessively high. Allowing it to drop from high-level herbs would help stabilize the economy and prevent a small group from monopolizing the supply.
- Better Accessibility for All Players – Right now, only players with significant gold reserves or extensive farming time can afford flasks weekly. This change would allow more players to raid competitively without an extreme financial burden.
- Reduction of Monopolization and Botting – The current system encourages botting and organized groups to control spawn points. A wider distribution of Black Lotus would make the market fairer and reduce bot activity.
- A Proven System – Season of Discovery has already demonstrated that this approach works well. Implementing it in other versions of the game would enhance the player experience without breaking game balance.
We appreciate your consideration and hope you’ll look into this!

You can’t compete with warriors and rogues even with a flask, lol

I don’t play either of these, and even I know you do not need flasks to clear the raids.
Most bosses have ONE mechanic, if you’re struggling with that, I’ve got bad news for you.
My guild in Som got world first Naxx lmao. No world buffs, harder bosses. You where there right? Try again I guess.
This doesn’t need to be changed. You need to try harder.
I found 3 Black Lotus in 2 hours of solo running around in the Burning Steppes this morning. All on layer 3. If Blizzard makes a change it will be a big mistake and ruin the continuity of this game…imo…

That’s not a ton of BL. I get the same amount, that’s 3 flasks. It wouldn’t hurt the community, unless the community is the gold sellers one. Cuz cheap flasks just make me more likely to make them instead of using it on mighty rage and greater arcane.
Right now the incentive is to horde them, not use them.
I expect they’ll increase the drop rate mid phase 4 like they did last time.
‘’ I wont be able to sell black lotus for 150g after farming at 4am in the morning’’
I think the game will be just fine.
has a lot to do with megaservers hoss not just the rarity
3 flasks is plenty for 2 hours of farming
these are supposed to be rare potions
Blizzard could also do the same patch they did in 2020 classic, which increased the spawn rate from once/hour/zone to once/15min/zone. Can confirm that it’s only spawning once per hour right now, which means there is only a quarter of the lotus being farmed compared to what there was 5 years ago.
Here was the update 5 years ago (that isn’t in the current anniversary realms): https://eu.forums.blizzard.com/en/wow/t/black-lotus-and-wsg-adjustments-incoming/154603
Well, let’s look at what we have at the moment.
Classic/Vanilla has already been hit with a HUGE change, and that is a Megaserver. It was never originally designed for so many swarms.
The original servers had a handful of thousands, yes? Now we’re way past that, and I feel little has been done to adjust the available resources to meet the population that uses them.
