So what you’re saying is you made a bad investment in a comodity you expected to increase in value but that instead has done the opposite.
Nice! This will be really helpful in 6 hours when I reach the character selection screen!
Sure it’s a free market, but there was never supposed to be changes of this degree implemented. (Especially this late into the games life cycle)
A “hot fix” focused on just one item could be applied to anything now, if enough players complain. Resulting in anything being the new target.
Let’s up the world boss respawns,
Let’s double the mining/ herb nodes,
Rare spawns.
Not exactly,
A group of players where sad cause they didn’t want to put in the work to get black lotus.
Another group of players put in a substantial amount of work to get black lotus from bot farms.
Blizz then instead of putting in a change to remove bots is just going to make it easy for those players to get black lotus. Resulting in a market crash.
So the group of players who worked towards getting black lotus are now logging into wasted work.
I see the reason for the change but it definitely is not 100% positive for a fair change to everyone is all.
I’m confused. Are you a “legitimate” player who planned to use their BL for AQ and Naxx, or a speculative hoarder who wanted to sell your BL? They are sort of mutually exclusive.
So, your guild was stockpiling BL for AQ… but planned to sell the BL in order to… do what exactly?
If you were stockpiling for AQ, shouldn’t you be happy now that you can stack even more lotus more easily? Your goal of having a deep bank of lotus just got easier.
Is it not the whole point of the AH to post goods for a profit?
Players are commenting here like it’s a crime to have been stocking up for the Phase 5 release to make a higher profit.
If that’s the issue then the hot fix should really be to just make all items BOP lol problem solved. No need to ever worry about expensive items again.
I think you’re misunderstanding.
The player I responded to portrayed himself as using BL to boost his performance in raids. If so, this change will not affect him. So it’s just curious that he would seem upset at the change.
This is absolutley a needed change, between the botters and guilds that farmed every single spawn point it makes it almost impossible to find one at any hour, especially on a high pop server. And to that end it makes it real hard for the average player that cant spend 10 hours a day playing wow and has to work to be able to get the mats or much less afford to buy them when they are almost 200g each. With this change it pretty much helps all the legit average players (who prob makes up 80% of the subs) to actually be able to find a Lotus or at least buy it for a reasonable price. Keep a eye out all the botters and farmers are dumping there stock now and by the time the Hotfix comes out they will be lucky to get 50g each
You still have 1 spawn per zone it leads to believe. Just more places FOR them to spawn now plus 15min reset.
The 15min reset it what im stoked for. Gonna be 4-5x more black lotus available off the cuff
Hotfix is already live lol
really lol I guess its about to get real they prices have dropped from 200 to 115 since the announcement
The change to the black lotus is wonderful. But could we do something about the mass bots on Whitemane. ATM since Whitemane is a full realm that you cant transfer to people are mass boting farm toons to lvl 60 to sell them to people who want to play on the ream but cant transfer. This is also contributing to the mass queue times on Whitemane and destroying the play time of all the guilds. make a toon now in zones who can make mages and hunters and the whole zone is bots. i had to fight for 8 leaper gnome kills for around 47 min due to bot hunters with rando English names and china pets. plez blizzard do something
Oh haha, my apologies then.
I was just seeing a general tone here of player hostility toward anyone mentioning they where hoping to sell BL for a profit later in the game.
As if it was unheard of for players to want to sell items to make gold.
Woot! #morechanges
lmao classic lotus prices were not 300g you clown, vanilla did not have over double the player base. vanilla did not have 1.12 talents and itemization upon release. Vanilla did not have cross realm bgs. If you wanted a pure vanilla experience you already missed it, it was vanilla.
lmao just saw literally 10 bots stacked ontop of each other fishing
Fantastic changes. Thanks Bliz!
I really appreciate that the classic wow developers are including, with every change, a thorough description of their rationale. And that they are evaluating each change with respect to minimizing differences from the design intent of original Warcraft.
My only concern is that being unable to see black lotus on-screen or on minimap unless a player has 300 herbalism seems like a special case. It could be confusing. If there was some other more general solution, such as not letting a player see herbs that they are not of an appropriate level, then at least it wouldn’t be some black lotus-specific change.
Also, while black lotus spawn is increased, there are other reagents required to make use of black lotus. These reagents will likely become rate limiting now, and will those still be visible to dead toons / non-300 herbalism toons?
