For us legitimate players who spent hours farming Black Lotus and saving it for the release of AQ and Naxx, find this EXTREMELY unfair. It took 6 months to save up 5 stacks, now it will loose all it’s value. If you’re going to call it Classic WOW, then you can’t start making changes to placate the Complainers and Whiners. Soon it will become the Dummied down version of Classic, just to Keep the Whiners happy. I’ll be canceling my subscription if this Hot Fix happens.

You do understand that if you have 100 lotus, you’re richer than you possibly need to be for all of classic, right? But hey, if you want to take your dice go home, have at it. You won’t be missed.

But that sort of raises another question of if black lotuses should even be increased in the first place. Especially if it can cause other problems in other areas of the game.
If it’s not required for content, then why even raise the drop rates?
If it’s required for other “Artificial/playermade” activities ie. speedruns, then wouldnt just removing the black lotus requirement be kind of the same thing? Speedclears are really trying to compete against other speedclearers right? So if blizzard removed flasks/lotuses, wouldnt it sort of keep the “relative” ranks of the speedclearers the same, just minus the requirement of a 300g/week?

Simple. Because more people think its fun than there are people wondering why anyone would want to use them. The players have spoken. So let it be written. So let it be done.
If the content were harder, sure. This is how certain pservers did it, but the content also was hard enough to justify using flasks to clear.

I like how you just assume that everyone was a speed clearer. That is legit the EXACT opposite of the player base.

if you’re saving it to use in AQ you have literally nothing to complain about, you can still use those lotus for aq. but as we know you’re posting from a level 18 alt because you’re a known hoarder on your server.

Not a speed clearer. Heck, a flask doesn’t even help my DPS (currently anyway, the health might come in handy later). Not assuming everyone is, or how you inferred something like that. I just think people would like to try it, and not shell out an epic mount’s worth of gold per week of it.

That’s kind of a kneejerk reaction. All they’ve done is changed the spawn rates to match the changed population in classic.

Well, “trying” should come with a cost especially since they are so strong. It’s like a super power up, so I think it should have a commensurate cost with restrictions.
Think about it. The supreme power ones gives 150 spell power… for 2 hours. Thats like having a constant ToEP activated without using up a gear slot. Or the tanks get like a 2 hour lifegiving gem (kind of)
