The single largest reason I dont play retail is your garbage progression treadmill that is constantly resetting or invalidating effort and progression.
When a player invests significant time into farming enough gold to be secure on black lotus and lock it in at its pre-aq announcement, pre-naxx prices… and then you come in and obliterate the it’s value- then you have achieved the same level of sht game design that helps make retail unplayable. This, in a game where you constantly hide blehind #nochanges when it suits you- but there are changes. Massive changes. One of which being that servers are way bigger than in classic.
This is a change that absolutely should have happened… several months ago. Anyone with the foresight of a 7 year old saw this problem in phase 1. We waited for the fix announcement in phase 1, phase 2. Staggered, we continued hoping in phase 3, and 4. Nothing. We’re almost 5/6th through classic wow. At some point past half way through the game players had to realize that there was no reason to believe the BL problem would be fixed. Any reasonable raider then had to decide whether to grind a small fortune of gold to lock in BL at current prices or accept that they’d have to do twice the work to flask at Naxx prices.
I burned myself out grinding gold like a madman to secure an investment in the future economy of my server.
Instead of that effort paying off, I will instead watch prices fall to 80%, 50%, 30% of what I paid because blizzard had a whim near the end of the game. I have to wonder where did all those dozens of hours of work go? Why does Blizzard employ anyone who lacks the foresight that the classic team has shown on this issue? Who, at the same time believe it is good game design to punish players who make an effort to be prepared?

The behavior of camping/corpse camping BL isn’t being done just by bots and gold sellers.
I’m going to assume they’re basically making it so that every high end spot on the map (Dreamfoil/Mountain Silversage/Plaguebloom/Icecap/etc.) can spawn a Lotus.
That really means there’s probably too many to camp every spot.

if you dont have a character currently raiding this thread shouldn’t concern you champ. you have literally nothing to gain from lotus being increased or decreased in price.

I understand that… But that is the nature of the game… It has always been like that. And it most likely always will … This change will solve nothing except give more BL to the bot’s and GS’ers.
This has always been the case - developers develop and players play. Nothing stopping you from creating a game that you want to play and offering it to the millions of likeminded players - just dont steal other developers work, add your own changes and call it yours.
I can tell you that these developers care more about a majority of the Classic playerbase enjoying their game than sticking your idea of what Vanilla was. Welcome to 1.13 where changes that would have been made had TBC never been on the cards, are being made.

Look, if that casual player you’re responding to can ALSO see the faults in these changes, dont you think that these changes should be second-guessed? He doesnt even raid so he has no real take either way, but if he can see why this is bad, you should be able to as well
