This is just a whole mess of a bad idea…
Now to be clear, I am 100% in support of the BLM movement. Just want to get that out of the way before I get any comments saying that I’m against PoC having stuff or something. Now that I have that out of the way, let’s discuss how bad this idea is, with two of the main issues popping out at me:
-
Lorewalker Cho showing up and reporting on what heroic deeds exactly? Like, hate to burst the bubble there, but every legendary deed that has been accomplished by a human, has been accomplished by a white human. There are no ‘heroic deeds of people of colour in WoW lore’ for Lorewalker Cho to talk about.
-
Offering a mount to only PoC players. Not only does that mean a large portion of the WoW player base will not get this mount, but how would you even be able to determine who is a person of colour or not? Blizzard does not ask for racial information at any point in the account registration process because it’s not relevant to having an account created. So, what’s to stop folks from lying about their ethnicity to claim the mount? Nothing.
